Before I continue, let me just say, higher specs won't determine a success of a product. Though third parties are important, these companies need to focus more on exclusive games and content which will determine the life span of the console.
Microsoft pretty much confirm that the XboxOne is a powerful leap from the 360 ,but nothing bleeding edge, the 3 OS will use a chunk of the hardware ram. There pretty much taking notes from Nintendo and going their own route, their competing with the PS4 ,but competing in their own style, like how Nintendo is doing their own thing with the Wii U and I love this tactics very much. What annoyed me the most between the 360 and PS3 were that they felt extremely too similar, with this move, Xbox can create a new image for itself that will make it stand out from the other consoles.
Not to mention, this could be more affordable compare to the PS4, this going to be a interesting gen. I look forward to the Summer Update for the Wii U, its suppose to be a huge compare to the Spring Update.
