Forums - Gaming - Splitscreen is "sooo PS2"

Personally hate it when a game comes out thats mulitplayer online but not splitscreen, it sucks. It especially is worse when you see a game that can be played system link, but not split screen, its like, "shit, if i want to play this game with someone else, im going to need 2 copies of the games, 2 consoles and 2 tvs just to do it.

I love playing multiplayer games with friends. It is just not the same playing online. The thing i don't like about split screen is how easy it is to 'cheat', and look at the other person's screen.

If split screen was 'last gen', they should of at least considered a multi screen output. PS3 were going to do this, but for some reason they scrapped it at the last moment.

The 360 also has a lots of split screen games, Gears of wars and halo a re a good example. Mock on your friends face is priceless. They are going backwards by taking that options.

i love split screen games, its great when friends come over. otherwise we can only pllay single player games.

Split screen rocks, devs who don't put it in where appropriate are smoking crack. Imagine MK without split screen.

.... My brother bought Burnout on PS3 man I was pissed that the game doesn't have splitscreen...I hate it...It is a game that is fun with two ...But it sucks to not have a internet connection..

Lazy developers.

I was so about to make a thread about this today. So I decided to go out and buy COD4 cuz i needed a new game for the dorm. Well the game has local split screen but no ONLINE splitscreen! I thought this was standard in FPSs since Halo 2. Needless to say I'm pissed. (Then again, the single-player online is ridiculously fun and the graphics are amazing. I don't understand how people hate on that.) Well, I guess it's back to Warhawk

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.
