many many times i have heard the term "exploration" being tossed around while people were arguing discussing video games. my question is, to you, what is considered good exploration in video games, give examples of games and why they are good. the more info you can give the better. (just dont go on huge rants )

Exploration means I can pretty much go in any dam direction I please and discover something. It is a vast apocalyptic wasteland to beautiful modern cities where I can roam to my heart dersires. It is exploring the wild, wild west as I ride my trusty stead into the sunset!

big open world, a lot of secrets and hidden itens, no help for map, this kind of stuff with the magic of a Metroid game lol
