You want to know which franchise is bigger?? Simple, answer this question: what other franchise can afford to charge $40 for a DEMO and sell millions!!?? I'll give u clue, it's not Halo... Any Franchise that can pull that off is not big, its fckn Bo$$!!!

This always bugs me. GT5:P is obviously not a true demo. It's a full-fledged game.

The main reason why it sold so well was because people were hungry for a next gen GT. They had been waiting for a very long time since GT4 and when a GT game came out at a budget price, they went in droves to buy it. The same scenario would happen with any big game whether it be COD, Halo, or Mario.

sorry my friend but GT5:P is by no means a "full fledge game"..... and at the bolded, u r just speculating and making excuses

But it is a full fledged game. That is a fact.

And the bolded is true whether you like it or not.

Gran Turismo of course

Especially after this Gen it has shown that it is the bigger one.
A RACING GAME doing THAT great in a shooter driven Gen?
It's not hard selling shooters in this Gen especially if you are on the 360 and have the luck to do so well in the USA.

Gran Turismo on the other side showed it can do what it did in previous Gens
And its hard to sell racing games in this Gen as some other racing franchises that were so called competition showed.

e magnificence of the Halo games.

Not one thing you said is the truth, but I agree.......

Can you point out the flaws in my opinion?

a: I'm sure GT doesn't sell DLCs like Halo or make people sign up for a subscription based online community like Halo.

b: Sony doesn't sell equal amount of multi-plat software like MS do on 90% of the games( exception to titles that were exclusive to PS, like Metal Gear). Check the charts.

c: Being big in America sometimes means selling more than worldwide. Xbox is a proof of that. Xbox doesn't sell in Japan and it's way behind in Europe but it managed to be in front of PS3 for the whole generation until now. It managed that just by trouncing competition in the US of A for the last 4 or so years.

d: Halo is exclusive to Xbox but everytime it comes out it shoulders with COD in terms of numbers. Halo 4 is on its way to double digits.

e: Fifa doesn't sell more than Halo on Xbox and you can add up PS3 and Xbox numbers and you get about what Halo sells just in Xbox.

f: That's true but if you compare Europe's software sales for most of the games, they're tiny compared to North America. Remember that MS profits with Halo also on DLC and it helps boost Xbox Live subscription; that's around $100 dollars a game for you buddy. Halo is a juggernaut.

Now I can tell you why COD blew up. US and the world live in a period where wars are all over the news and military/soldier theme looks good on any visual medium. Even Dark Zero made money.

Halo is a Sci-fi/Fantasy/Adventure where this theme is not what dominates the actuality but it still moves the genre on its own. It doesn't ride any hype but the one that itself created.

Dude, Sony releases a Demo and sells millions of it before the real games comes out.

Fifa is not just bigger, it's getting to be a huge.  Fifa is number one is in genre, HALO is not.

Xbox numbers software is tiny in Europe compared to America, I agree, but that's an xbox problem

Europe has had the major wars, yet GT is bigger than Halo there....lol

Halo is not the GENRE , COD is. GT is the leader in his genre.

I will never understand what makes GT so huge. It's just a racing game, right? So what's so special about it? Some new cars, better graphics and some new tracks and it's a 10mil seller? What does GT have that Forza or Need for Speed does'nt? Their is no new story to look forward to, their is no character that we are eager to revisit. It's just a game that presents you a bunch of car and tracks like many other racing game...

Not trying to troll, I'd rly like to hear from ppl what does that series have that Forza or Need for Speed desperetly need to become 10mil sellers. I'm not a fan of racing games, so I usualy don't play any of these anyway.

I would say halo is bigger than GT. Ppl talk more about it,also alot of ppl buy a Xbox solely for Halo, meanwhile I don't often hear ppl say they bought a Playstation solely for GT. When asked about why Sony fans are Sony fans, they usualy mention a bunch of other franchise along GT. If Halo was the ONLY Xbox first party franchise (not trying to troll but it's almost the case :P) the Xbox would do fine thx to Halo. Meanwhile take away all Sony first party franchise except for GT, the PS3 would'nt do anywhere near as good as the Xbox imo.

But their is no doubt that the biggest first party IP is Mario. The second is Pokémon. You need to be a clueless fanboy to say otherwise. Halo is 3rd imo, GT 4th and Zelda 5th.

What?! I can't hear you over all this awsome! - Pyrrhon (Kid Icarus:Uprising)

Final Ultimate Legendary Earth Power Super Max Justice Future Miracle Dream Beautiful Galaxy Big Bang Little Bang Sunrise Starlight Infinite Fabulous Totally Final Wonderful Arrow...FIRE! - Wonder-Red (The Wonderful101)

I think Halo is on the downtrend. Halo 4 wasn't that good as the previous Halos, and it's has a new team behind Halo now. At one point, Halo was the biggest 1st person shooters, but other FPS like COD and Battlefield are chipping away at Halo. I think Halo 5 will continue to have a downward trend on sales.

Gran Turismo will stay big for a long time and I don't see another racing game anytime soon to overtake GT series.

COD is the action/adventure leader but Halo is a solid second.Fifa to compare with Halo has to sum all the consoles sales to do it.

GT demos sold because uninformed and avid GT fans were in racing thirst for most of the console generation. But even when it came out it was subpar compared to Forza 3 and 4.

one your flat out lying Halo 4 is performing better than 3 and Reach, it doesn't matter if COD is bigger that is completely irrelevant, 343 made Halo 4 a success. And where do you get this downward trend from? But lets look a fact GT series is on a huge downward spiral into the abyss, last highest GT 14 mill, GT4 10 mill, next one far less

Halo 4 is on its way to pass Halo Reach and take a shot at 3. Bad news for you...

Do you guys live in a climate of war now? Is that your actuality? How much is your country involved in a war now?

I said uninformed gamers and avid GT fans, not uninformed GT fans. And gamers that buy dlcs and online accounts are informed about them thats why they buy them! Capisce?

And COD on Xbox sells more than PS3's version. What does that have to do with Halo vs GT?
