From what i've heard though... the average Wii game has about 15 dollars go back to the publisher or so... as over 50% go back to the publisher but you have to pay for physical production costs too.

PS3 despite costing 10 dollars more i actually believe net less per copy to it's publisher to do blu-ray discs costing more and PS3 liscensing fees being reportidly higher by a pretty decent degree. (which may explain why companies like capcom are screwing europe or atleast suggeting the stores do.)

But of course there are other values other than just instant profit. The next release in the franchise will get a boost if the previous one was well received.

The only real complete figures I've found so far were Gears at a little over $10M ($10M + engine development, but that's of course just not for Gears) and Spiderman 3 at $35M.

With more evidence appearing that Sony actually is coming close to breaking even on the PS3, one has to ask:

Exactly how damned much is Nintendo making on every Wii sold? How much is MS making on each 360?

Nintendo must be making a boatload on each Wii and MS also has to be doing pretty well for themselves.

You understand as a moderator you just trolled. You left the topic and bragged on how much the wii is making for nintendo. Please dont do it again your setting a bad example.

 2008 end of year predictions:

PS3: 22M

Well gears isn't really complete as they arn't counting the masive gears advertising blitz.

WTF? Rocketpig isn't trolling. Remember, this isn't just our Sony playground, it's a public forum.

Also, I didn't mean that any of the million sellers on either system didn't make a profit. But I do mean it's a big risk, and a lot bigger risk than you take on a typical Wii game.

I guess titles like Lair and Stranglehold didn't make a profit. Heavenly Sword might be close. Kane & Lynch?

Though, it`s Sony Discussion > Sony Earnings.
So there is really no need to mention nintendo or m$, yeah, they making some profit, so what?
PS3 is the ONLY TRUE NEXTGEN console. =)

The question was like, how many Mc`Donalds making on their hamburger sold or coke?
Who cares, when it`s being debated about HIGH level wine. =)

Btw, PS3 has TWO 2 mln. 3rd party sellers. While Wii only ONE 2 mln. 3rd party seller, with 9 mln. PS3 and 20 mln. Wii sold. So WHAT now?

Every 5 seconds on earth one child dies from hunger...

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

You just don't get it Kber. Red Steel wasn't big budget. You really have no clue what you're talking about do you. Sigh...

Just because games sell more doesn't mean they make more for developers especially when you think about how much it cost to develop those games.

Call the Wii minigames all you want, its not going to help Sony's situation anymore and it only paints your sheer bias against accepting anything other than number of games sold.

Also, funny how you try to include the 360 with the PS3 in making your comparison. The Wii has still sold far more third party games than the PS3 has, even million sellers. Face it, the proud PS3 supporter is using the 360 as a crutch to make his system look better. Only the 360 has the sales you speak of, not the PS3 by a long shot. :D

Red Steel cost 13 million USD. It's the most expensive Wii project so far AFAIK. I don't need X360 here. Just few new titles to back my point. You have no idea about your own system...

NFS:Prostreet PS3 - 0,95 million

NFS:Prostreet Wii - 0,38 million

Fifa08 PS3 - 1,08 million

Fifa08 Wii - 0,45 million

Madden NFL PS3 - 0,72 million

Madden NFL Wii - 0,52

You can find some titles which sells better on the Wii but if you consider huge gap in the userbase it looks pale. Go and check some figures before you post because clearly you have no idea what you'are taking about pal.

I believe FishyJoe has a sig for you.  I can do it to!

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga PS3 - 0.37m

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga Wii - 0.78m

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock PS3 - 0.81m

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Wii - 1.55m

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 PS3 - 0.24m

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 Wii - 0.76m

What did I just prove? Absolutely nothing!  We all know certain games will sell betteron certain systems.

Also the part of GGE's quote that you bolded is quite true.

               1m

250k

Note that I didn't count Sega's million seller because it has Mario in the title.  The only thing this table really proves is that there were far more Wii games(as in number of titles) produced in the last 14 months.  However, the fact that there are more higher-selling(500k+) titles does say a lot, considering of the games started development when the Wii was considered by most(developers) to be D.O.A. and the PS3 was going to continue doing what PSX and PS2 did.

But enough of all of this, we've derailed the thread enough as it is.  It's time to get back on topic or move the discussion to a new thread.

OK, I'll bite. Wii has one third party game (Mario & Sonic) that has outsold every PS3 game, first party and third party.
