People saying its because ps3 price cut is bull in my opinon

You could just as easily argue the 360 had a full year by it'self there for it should of sold better with not competition.
You could also say the PS3 did better while staying more expensive than the 360 even if a price cut.
you could argue the PS3 had to deal with huge titles like GOW and Halo3 to battle against.

The Ps3 beat the 360 year to year with PS3 at more of a dissadvantage than the 360 had its year.

ps3 also had name brand recognition, and that resulted in360s first year being full of doubt

I remember all the "just wait for the ps3 man" when 360 came out because EVERYONE owned a ps2, and when ps3 came out with its price tag, things changed.

Good points, but regardless, the numbers don't lie.

In my opinion, the Xbox's brand recognition was just as good as the PS2's in North America. I guess they needed to up the ante in Europe and Japan more.

Let's see if PS3 has 16.5mil this time next year.

Nope, PS3 will have 20M+ this time next year.

My point exactly. Which would be 4+mil more than the xbox is at right now.

I remember the "I was going to wait for the ps3 but I decided to get a 360".

I agee. MS xbox brand name is very strong in NA.

Yea, and the way things have been going lately with my friends there's been confusion. There's now an adequate amount of games on both systems. I had a friend who recently sold his 360 while it still had value, and now he's waiting for a few months before there is a clear "tie breaker" between the two.

Considering Sony has pretty much cut their losses on production costs now, Sony will prove to be more profitable, especially since they don't have to deal with an absurdly high failure rate.

One hour and thirty minutes from now, we'll know exactly how far they have cuts costs.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

So next year, we will see if:

1) The PS3 has sold at least 16 million (and don't think claiming it's guaranteed actually makes it guaranteed; it's likely, but not certain).

2) Sony's gaming division turns profitable (does seem likely, as long as there are no snags on the scale of a warranty change).

3) The PS3 has 30+ million sellers (not likely, since the PS3 has only 7 right now, and I remember the 360 having about 15 at this time).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Well DUHHHH hard for it not to beat that defective joke thats not accepted by majority of the world. Expect PS3 to out sale the 360 overall by 09
