Can people even afford PS3 there? Their price is outrageous and Brazil (like all other countries in Latin America) buy illegal copies of everything.

They have almost 200 million citizen I think there are at least 10 million who can afford it.

According to some news reports the Brazilian average wage is about 700€ which isn´t that bad actually. It is more then the people in Croatia get

Not true, the average wage here is a bit higher than that, and in Brazil is nowhere near 700EUR.

I dont know what the exact average in croatia is. I have Magny Friends sind Family there AMD they all geht 400-700 € a month with nö additional bonuses

The video of the Brazil's factory.

still a long way to Rio baby

If true, Brazil really is becoming a beast. Do you have some link to official data and whether the figure is gross or net?

Maybe I've been swayed, if a movie is filmed in Brazil you'll see things like the favelas in Fast Five. If it's filmed in Croatia you'll see things like Game of Throne's King's Landing (filmed in Dubrovnik). There aren't things like favelas in Croatia. There are some shanty towns occupied by gypsies but on a much smaller scale, and the situation is no where near as bad as in Serbia.

It's funny how some of the things most iconic to Brazil are poor people.

I've been there in dubrovnik. It's like walking in a movie, gorgeous.

But you probably don't see such things in brasil because Croatia's history goes way further then the history of brasil.

Nice video :)

@OP

All in all this is great news for playstation fans in Brazil. The benefit will become more apparent over time. I expect Sony to do a worldwide price cut for the PS3 when the PS4 launches so countries like Brazil will finally have a chance to play on modern consoles for a fair price. As a gamer this makes me very happy.

just opened a link after a google search

it also seems to be always much higher in november and especially december, maybe extra payments and bonuses or whatever.

numbers are from the "Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística, Brazil" and they use "real salaries" whatever that means.

about croatia, i was once there but that is already too long ago to remember and all i remember is that i drank a lot of  "pipi" (which was funny because we say pipi to urine in germany and the colour is almost the same lol)

We have a full addictional salary in November or December called 13th... so you have one salary per month all the year and in November or December you receive a new salary to used in the year ends shopping (Christmas time).

So we receibe twice the money in November or December (some companies pay in November and others in December... or halp in one month and half in another).

Here in Venezuela is called "aguinaldo" and ussually is paid between November and first days of december...

Glad to hear that the PS3 is gonna be manufactured in Brazil, I hope this help the others markets on the mercosur like venezuela, uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay.. here in venezuela a PS3 is is arround 1000$ just the basic model without Gow or an game :/ and the games are alreayd arround a 20$ that amount.. betwen 180 to 250$ :/

Ethomaz found his dreamjob :). Now if Polophony would open a studio in Brazil we will not see him anymore around lol.

Are all PS3's made in Brazil now or just some? It's great for them though, it should mean far far cheaper systems
