Toylogic has announced a new title update for XBLA free-to-play effort Happy Wars, which adds a new game mode and costumes inspired by The Behemoth's venerated brawler Castle Crashers. Do Battleblock Theater outfits next, chaps.
Tackle the aforesaid mode, Extreme Style Match, before 1st May, and you'll be rewarded with threads reminiscent of the Blue Knight and Barbarian - the unlock's guaranteed at no additional cost, providing you've earned at least one achievement in Castle Crashers. Which entails downloading and buying the latter, yes. A little cheeky, but Castle Crashers is worth the extra time and money.
"This collaboration has been a great honor. Castle Crashers, the creation by The Behemoth, one of the world's greatest game developers, is one of the most popular Xbox LIVE Arcade titles," noted Yoichi Take, Happy Wars game director. "I hope to deliver more collaborations like this one with other Xbox game developers too, and make the game even more enjoyable for our more than 2 million Happy Wars fans all over the world."
As for Extreme Style Match, it's "a game mode where everything stays the same, except for just one element: the game balance. In this new game mode, the game balance is off-the-wall EXTREME. Everything will look the same, but feel completely different." Sounds entertaining.
