I blame Wii Fit.

i'm surprised by wii, expected bout the same for 360. i would have thought ps3 would've have had a higher tie ratio though.

But Wii Sports and Wii Play shouldn't... aww, never mind. Nice chart.

Well PS3 it is not doing so hot in USA. Its userbase is small and it's growing slowly so the relatively low tie ratio of software says that it didn't sold many software overall.

I wouldn't mind seeing this for Europe/Others as well.

Keep in mind for those that don't read the article this is December only.

Lies all lies. Only 3rd party software should be counted. Why? Because, well ... I mean ... it makes the wii look bad.

Nope, the graph that I posted is refered to software LTD in USA for first 14 months of life of respective system.

But in the article there are various graphs , even that that you have refered with your post.

"I don't know why the NPD Group doesn't publish tie ratios every month, but I have a good guess. Using the above relationship, along with hardware system sales every month, we could figure out how many software units each system is moving. Moreover, we could estimate how much revenue each system is generating from software, using approximate average software prices. Put simply, that is data that the NPD Group would prefer to sell to customers than give away for free".

I hope anyone else noticed the above paragraph. I would love for VGchartz to do some revenue charts. Profit is another issue, but revenue would be really interesting.

this is LTD software for NA only.  So to have a decent perspective on these number you might want to know the number of consoles each system sold over those 14 months.

http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=America&cons2=PS3&reg2=America&cons3=X360&reg3=America&weeks=56

the software ratio of 360 to ps3 is about the same as the ratio of consoles.  The software ratio between wii and 360 seems to favor the 360 slightly compared to console sales.  these comparisons were done visually so don't nitpick too much plz.
