I'm in love with Journey, It's been almost a year since i've had this game and I STILL play it. I've probably done well over 70 of them, I'm not sure I haven't kept track. For some reason, this game does not get boring to me. Something about the random pairing of companions and different experiences you share with other people just keeps me playing. Everything about the game is phenomenal to me. The graphics, setting, purpose, online interaction, SOUNDTRACK, etc.
With the "new generation" of consoles approaching, out of all the games I've played since I first owned a PS3 at launch, Journey is literally at the top of the list of best game experiences I've had. Of course there's other close contenders like MGS4 and such, but for a 2 hour game.... it blew my mind. There's far too many shitty games coming out that are just rinse and repeat, same things with a different name plastered on it. I haven't ever encountered a game quite like Journey in the many years I've been playing video games. thatgamecompany did something new with this one, it's such a beautiful experience and that's what is lacking in today's games, I haven't seen a game that has touched so many people emotionally in my life, almost everybody I've talked to about the game has absolutely loved everything about it. This game reflects on what WE are, as humans. It's literally a metaphor to life and that's why I love it so much. You grow to almost love your companion, and that is truly astonishing, you have no idea who they are... yet they mean a lot to you. No names, no talking, just chirping back and forth... it breaks down social barriers, this person is your companion... you don't care what their name is, who they are, what they sound like, if they're a guy or a girl. I've never experienced anything quite like it in a video game, and that's why it's pretty special to me.
