Wii-U not "next gen" confirmed, as all sensible people stated already and as all desperate people denied. Was plain as day already. This is not a fanboy comment but people really need to stop taking things so personally and acting so precious. Some of us take a genuine interest in the hardware and couldn't give a monekys if it is or isn't next gen on a defensive personal level! The Wii-U will surely receive some top games during it's lifetime including the usual Nintendo greats, that isn't in question. I'm very pleased a top developer from a top development company that's respected has finally come out and said it. It should even help with the "is Wii-U next gen" threads. Good all round for everyone :) *I have a Wii-U, (have every console except Vita) and take no delight in this announcement but do take delight in clearing up the mystery. Amen!

seriously, what the fuck are you expecting. this is like real life. when a smart ass tries over and over again to proof everyone wrong and make people feel bad for their opinion, of course they will get defensive.

Not sure I follow?
At the end of the day he's stated his opinion in a somewhat boistrous fashion, but his job isn't one of an "ambassador to video games". He can say what he damn well likes imo, and he's damn well qualified to say it. Why would this annoy people? I realize my view isn't going to be popular here and I'm defo in the minority but it's a reasoned opinion and has merit I feel. Just discussion, not meaning to wind anyone up here :)

i'm not talking about him hating on a specific groud of fans. but on all the haters saying*fu and your system, trollolol wii u*" of course people owning this system will be in defend mode, nature son, nature....

Completely agree, I didn't mean to sound smart ass (well I did a little :p) suppose it was more of a "told you so" comment puffed up into a post. Not trying to poke fun at Wii-U owners at all, but more to the current general view that the Wii-U is a next gen console in terms of performance.
That's not a terrible thing, it is what it is and the future is yet to be known in terms of how well it's going to do.
Obviously comments like his are hardly going to help, and you are actually very right in what you say.
I suppose I'm thinking more of the happy medium, the overall view is usually eternally optimistic by the fanbase of each console/company and thus negative news is countered with extremely defensive comments. On the other hand there's people who love to see these fans fail. I'm not that type of person, but it's certainly refreshing for the fog to be lifted.
In the ideal world, all consoles would be slagged off equally and nobody would give a damn about who says what, why can't we have that?
