I guess I'm the only one who likes the S4.

Or do you like the S3? Can you immediatly tell which one you like if I was to shwo you one right now?

I would be able to because I used to own an S3, and I know the differenced between the two phones. However I'm not sure I understood your question 100%

What would be inticing you to upgrade your S3 to S4? I mean, I have one here on my desk at work right now...I can't tell the pixels at 720p, so 1080p is a a non issue. Both should run the same Android 4.2 and get the touchwiz skin from samsung (unfortunately). Performance is a better on the S4 obviously, but S3 isn't a slouch by any means.

At this point, all phones are pretty competent at doing 99% of the necessary tasks. What makes me want to spend a new 500 bucks on a device is getting to play with something fresh, unique and new. I don't see any of that on the Galaxy S4, if you already have an S3...or any iPhone since iPhone 4.

Yes, the same could be said about just about any recent phone now, like the iPhones. Yet, people still buy them.

Yeah I'd lump Galaxy S series and iPhone in the same category now. They don't have to do jack shit to sell their devices except make commercials.

S3 and S4 look almost the same O_O; I'm happy with my S3 though since the US version has 2GB of RAM and that matters more IMO.

Ah now I understand. That's actually a very valid question, since many people have the S3. Well, tbh for the majority of people who have an S3 they probably will be satisfied enough to where they don't have to upgrade because the S3 is efficient enough, and the S3 is good! But as for me, and other smartphone enthusiasts, I like to mess around with the more powerful stuff and push phones to their limits, or try too.

Now, your picture is a bit misleading. I'm sure the S4 is slightly bigger than the S3 than what it shows and also lighter.

As for the screen, well 720p is perfectly fine but full HD is better. I think its more of just a bragging point there. I mean things will look A LOT clearer with the HD screen (442ppi vs 326ishppi) so the HD screen is not really a deciding factor I guess.

Some of the S4 features are very nice some of which I'm looking foward too like the hand sensors and what not, being able to wave your hand over the phone or air view with your finger and the dual camera experience. And there's tons more but you get the picture.

So you're right. If you have an S3, upgrading to the S4 is not necessary. But it wouldn't be because they looked similar, but because the features the S4 has wouldn't be enough to warrrant an upgrade. I personally would upgrade though becaue I like the larger screen and the newer tech but that's just me.

Too big for me but with some great features .

It's smaller than SIII

I think it's the perfect size. Screen is so large O.O

Correction, its bigger than S3, but lighter than the S3 at the same time

It is? I could've sworn I heard the guy saying it was smaller. Maybe he said thinner then. Looks very thin.

Oh I see what you're saying. Yes it is thinner! The screen is larger (5.0 vs 4.8)

Your point is very well articulated and I fully unerstand what you are saying.

I guess it's kind of like a sequel to a movie or an album. S4 is hoping to appeal to the exact same audience and expand it. For someone that wasn't too impressed with the original movie or album, the sequel isn't anything they will be excited about.

However people that loved the original movie, will immediatly relate to the sequel and will recognize the familiar elements as well as see the new stuff and be very excited about it.

Truth be told, I think Samsung will dominate on mobile with this strategy for many years to come. It's a shame I don't think the original movie their smartphones are based on are anything special... :)

Picture isn't misleading at all. The S4 is actually a marginally smaller phone than the S3, despite its screen size increasing.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

S4 is smaller.

S4: 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm
S3: 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm

Of course it is, it needs to fit my Samsung innovation description in the first post on this thread. :)

Wasn't really the point, but for my personal use, yes. Xperia is better.

BTW Samsung phones also get better and much faster OS update support.

only Samsung's top models, it's other high and mid range smartphones barely receive any updates
