I would be able to because I used to own an S3, and I know the differenced between the two phones. However I'm not sure I understood your question 100%

Sure, the design is extremely similar, I don't see people complaining about the same laptop design over and over and over. They talk about whats inside, and the S4 is a decent bump up from the S3. For those of us who have old phones (I have an HTC Incredible now), the S4 is where its at.
Also, while I think the HTC One is pretty awesome, the 4mp camera is a huge turnoff. If you want to enlarge or edit stuff at all, you are basically screwed.

What bugs me is that HTC One is just so much better in every way. Better design, better specs, better software, better camera. But my work will not order that phone...Doubt the guys at work even know it exists and even if they do, they figure no one will buy it. |
Samsung may actually spend more money advertising the Galaxy S4 this year than HTC will earn revenue. Ouch.
I don't want to sound like you can't improve a phone by giving it better specs, but I've got a beef when those improved specs are obviously a marketing gimmick rather than an attempt to improve performance.
First example, they boast about having an 8 core CPU when only four cores are ever active at any given time. I cut Samsung a little slack here, because those extra four cores do actually do something useful, it's just a little misleading to call it an octocore. The bigger issue is that the phone would actually be better for 90% of user applications if it used the same architecture, half the cores, and a higher clock speed. But hey, that would only be four cores (two active at any given time), same as last year's model, so it's better for marketing if they don't do that.
Second point is the screen. 1080p at 5 inches is an almost total waste. It's virtually impossible to determine the difference between 720p with any kind of anti-aliasing and 1080p at that size, but the screen is going to draw more power, chew more CPU/GPU cycles, and deliver half the framerate it would at 720p. A 720p display would deliver a better experience with smoother animations and better battery life, but it won't look any better for marketing, so they won't do that.
Third point is pretty much all the software Samsung has added. You can just tell they're mostly terrible ideas that nobody will actually use, but they'll sound really cool when you're trying to sell the phone. Wave at the phone to answer a call? WTF.

Yes the S4 is where its at, the S4 is a SUBSTANTIAL upgrade over the S3, and the picuture he posted is a bit misleading.
Also HTC Ones came is 4mp Ultrapixels which can still apparently outlass even 13mp cams.

What would be inticing you to upgrade your S3 to S4? I mean, I have one here on my desk at work right now...I can't tell the pixels at 720p, so 1080p is a a non issue. Both should run the same Android 4.2 and get the touchwiz skin from samsung (unfortunately). Performance is a better on the S4 obviously, but S3 isn't a slouch by any means.
At this point, all phones are pretty competent at doing 99% of the necessary tasks. What makes me want to spend a new 500 bucks on a device is getting to play with something fresh, unique and new. I don't see any of that on the Galaxy S4, if you already have an S3...or any iPhone since iPhone 4.

Yeah but lets be real...if you want to do that on any phone other than possibly N8 and Pureview 808, you're screwed. More so on HTC One, but if you're taking pictures which stay in the 4x6 format or go to social network pages, HTC One looks like a better choice with the larget pixel option.
Meh.. I'm waiting for the Note III. If you're going to sacrifice comforatable one handed control then you might as well go all out and get the Note III.

Why do people need a phone that big? 5 inches really? At some point they have to stop increasing the screen size, because people have to be able to fit it in their pockets. I'll stick with the iPhone thanks, I don't need that piece of junk. iPhone is the perfect size, it fits just right in my hands and it is lightweight. |
Yeah I agree that the screen is too big for a phone. A 4.5 inch screen is good, but I think 4 inches seems small and 5 inches too big. Like, sometimes I find the Iphone 5 screen a bit small.
