Forums - Gaming - Motion controls (Kinect/PS Move) is better and more important than you think

Kinect is not as bad as people make it out to be.  As I've said multiple times, games that use kinect features and controller features together are a great combination and has a chance of really doing some innovative things together simultaneously.     I expect the new "Jawdropping Rare Game"  to be like this actually.  i expect it to use both a a standard controller and kinect together.  And even though I am not a motion control fan they are still important because a lot of people do like them which sales show.  Also notice that the PS Move has a few games that also has been able to successfully use PS Move.  So I say we need to stop being greedy and criticising Kinect/Move.  Just because you dont like it doesnt mean everybody doesnt.

The first list is PS Move titles and the second list is Kinect Titles above 70.

P.S. That 91 rated title is Little Big Planet 2.  It wont let me edit it in there.

Dead Space 3 have Kinect and/or Move controls? Or did you mean to include Dead Space Extraction?

Dead Spacce 3 does.  It is a better with kinect/Move title

Look, honestly, we've been told other motion controlled games would be jaw-dropping and they weren't. Is it possible that Kinect 2.0 and some of the next generation Kinect titles will be incredible and revolutionary? Of course. However, they're going to have to prove it. No one is going to forget that Star Wars game, which was hyped through the roof, or that weird thing Peter Molyneux was showing off.

Most of those games you listed in the green are there because they are good games without motion controls. Some do lend themselves very well to motion controls, like MLB The Show or Child of Eden, but some of the others are tacked on.

I expect improvements, without doubt, and I'm happy for those who like that style of play. They're going to have to convince me before I chose motion controls for most games, though, and they haven't done that yet.

I agree with that statement.  I'm not a motion control fan either.  I dont own kinect or Move because i dont care about them but both MSFT/Sony are going to continue to push them.  It has been shown that kinect/move can work along side with a regular controller as shown above.  Just because something uses Kinect/Move does not mean they ar ebad games.  And the ones that only use kinect/move are more party like games which a lot of people enjoy.  Im all up for expanding audiences on the Hardcore consoles.  A lot of people get started off on those party games and then eventually start to try new things.  At least that is the way i was when i was little.  I remember playing games like mario party all the time when i was little.

I'm a fan of motion controls. It can't fit in any game, but these kind of controls are great in other cases. It's pretty fun and effective to play Resistance 3 and Killzone 3 with the Move + Sharpshooter combo. Sports Champion is pretty fun, Heavy Rain was better with Move.
