Actually it's pretty clear he liked the game if you watch the review.

Yes. The first sentence sounds like hyperbole, as can be expected from this month giving his rant about the trophy. The sentences that come after it read like he DID like it. Just didn't like it as much as he had hoped.

I didn't have much respect for him to begin with. He's stated repeatedly that he's no real gamer, so why his opinion is ever given any real weight merely because he can articulate himself and nothing more, is beyond me.

I don't get that. If he's no real gamer,then why did he have that show on G4tv,were he reviewed games. I think it's called x-play,gameplay.Something like that. I can't remember. I haven't had that channel in a long time. Some semi-hot women was the co-host. I think her name was morgan.
