What don't you condone?
As long as they don't try and make too big a deal about it (I can see at some point there be a game where they're like "Hey! Look over here, this game as a GAY MC! Bet you wanna buy it right?") I think this is a great thing.
Giving people the option to genuinely create a character like themselves is never a bad thing, especially in RPGs and the like where the emphasis is on making your own choices.
Also, honestly it kind of bugged me that Fire Emblem didn't have any same sex relationships, and that's pretty much the only thing that bugged me about it.
