We all know how Nintendo brought into gaming two great innovations last gen. The touch screen on the DS and motion controls on the Wii.

So here's my question for today: Which of these innovations do you feel have been more meaningful to video games and why? Which has changed the way you play games for good?

For me personally I'd have to say touch screens have been more meaningful. In fact touch screens have been so well implemented that they feel almost just as natural as dual analogue sticks as input devices for games. On the other hand while motion controls were interesting when they first came out on the Wii, and later reinvigorated with the Kinect, which had potential, whenever I use them they feel somewhat forced. I don't get the "normal" feeling from them as I get with touch screens, analogue sticks or D-pad.

What about you?

Motion because it entertained a bunch of old people in retirement homes that otherwise would never attempt to play on a video game console.

Hmmmmmm....does touch screen include touch pads?

motion is more fun for everyone

and especially fun in Zelda SS

Motion wins

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I don't know which one I prefer, but the advent of motion controls has left a huge mark on the gaming industry, and pop culture as a whole, so I'ma have to go with that.

Motion controls are a gimmick, a niche, a fad. They had a big boom but are slumping back into darkness.

Touch however is more like a turtle. Slow and steady yet it will win the race. Why else would touch be on Wii U, 3DS, Vita, and PS4 as a built in main feature?
