Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft's Xbox chief predicts 'we'll all be wearing 10 sensors' in the next decade

Why are people so shocked by this?

We already have sensors in our phones, watches, pedometers, etc. We have the Nike+ sensor in our shoes. They could easily move to having sensors in our glasses/contacts (already in development).

I see no reason why sensors have to be intrusive. In fact, the goal of them would be to blend entirely with your normal clothes and accessories. They could monitor things like sun exposure, walking/exercise time or distance, body temperature or heart rates, etc. I see only benefits from these applications.

Around the Network

there are very few places i would accept a sensor. shoes - yes. bracklet - maybe. other - no?

they would have to be extremely un-intrusive, fashionable, and adaptable to a huge variety of climate and cultural differences. ...seems like something that can't be solved any time too soon.

home automation on the other hand. i'm almost ready for that. i like the promise i just don't like the products i've seen on the market to date. but if someone makes a great something i could see myself buying into it.
