I know right? But just ..maybe MAYBE the MP actually did take a hit on the SP. Like I don't mean the SP is bad, but the purpose of telling the story is a bit.. less "exciting" than GoW3 would you not agree? It feels as if Ascensions sole purpose is to try the MP. Why? Nah I think this team wanted to try the MP and still give us an experience in the SP. But the purpose of the game seems rather obvious to me. And it is quite clever rather than starting a trilogy or something and baking the MP in too. It is simply too much.

You mean it's "less exciting" because it's a prequel?

I agree that Ascension is somewhat a test game for MP and that MP often steals resources from MP in one way or another. But if they're testing MP then it's probably here to stay, and thus should take away resources from SP in the future too, right?

No I don't have the game already, it is mere speculation on my part!

Yeah, it could take resources from the SP in the future as well but when you already have a system to go from: I'd argue it is easier than doing it from scratch. Not to mention you sort of know what you're getting yourself into. And I am sure by the PS4 time, they will have an even bigger team and prioritize the game more. If you look at The Last Of Us: ND has people that worked on both UC2, UC3 AND NOW even on TLOU. That's why I want to know what Stigs team (director of GoW3) is up to. Maybe their project is 10 times more ambitious than Ascension.

Do u think Stig is doing a God of War game for the PS4 or some other IP?

I don't want to wait so long for a GoW on PS4.

I believe there were rumors on a new IP but nothing has been said officially. David Jaffe originally said "Stig is doing some cool stuff", that's all we got for now :P.

Maybe that new IP isn't even for PS4. I get the whole idea of making a new console seem attractive by putting out games. But at the same time: It's likely to sell more on a console with a larger userbase (the PS3).

So really I don't know. I think you are going to have to wait a while though for the next GoW because I do believe whatever the next game will be: It will be the biggest change GoW has ever seen. And that cannot be stressed by any merit.

It's really sad how the multiplayer, which I've been dreading since day one, seems to be getting more praise than the single player.

Looking back, it's kind of funny how people crapped on Halo 4 last November for "only" getting an 87 on Metacritic.

I can admit it doesn't look as good as God of War 3 (campaign wise) but it is a prequel and anything less than an 8 sounds like bullshit.

to answer any questions. To reiterate what I say above, in the interests of
fairness I’m holding off giving the game a final score until I can play the
multiplayer properly on retail servers. But if you want to know anything else,
go for it!"

Wow so these reviews that first came in aren't based on the final multiplayer.

i doubt it. GoW added multiplayer, something that somehow critics seem to be against, so they can "justify" the low scores they give out. gears J is pretty much more of the same, it wont score as high as other gears but still it will score good

They are not. Some got to try it out at some meeting at SSM. I sure hope they got enough time xD

Well yeah but Gears doesn't have mechanics from the PS2 era and critics have given GoW some backlash, they might feel less ..edgy if you know what I mean xD

Yeap... the MP servers for the final game are not online... the guys are playing the MP demo like us.
