Today's Xbox Live Games on Demand discounts are of the Resident Evilly variety. My, we've had some ups and downs with that franchise, haven't we? Resident Evil 4 rewrote the rulebook for third-person action by tearing up the rulebook for survival horror. Resident Evil 5 gave us one of history's more infamous ally characters, and also found time for a bit of slightly dodgy racial politics. And Resident Evil 6, long story short, is crazier than a planeload of randy baboons. Operation Raccoon City? Yeah, we don't talk about that one.

As one of the internet's few, embattled defenders of the game, I'd say Resident Evil 6 is pretty good value for nine quid. Say what you like about the mechanics and level design, but there's a lot of content to sample.
