yep that's what it sounds like..literally around 3 well known and credited insiders at gaf confirmed that basic online will be for free on PS4. Most likely things like gaikai, plus games etc will go behind a paywall. Maybe a tiered service?

Makes sense really...why have basic online behind a paywall and push for so many F2P games!? Makes no sense as it defeats the purpose

Either way it's good news :) And some comments by these insiders are getting me really hyped for E3..sounds like it will be one to remember

Woo, good to know. Ya a tiered service would make sense. So maybe someyhing like

Tier 1-free, same as ps3

Tier 2-ps plus, same as ps3

Tier 3-Gakai and ps-plus and maybe some other thing included to add more value overall

^ If it is a tiered system then I approve. I'll likely go for the one that gives me all the available features. Gaikai! But ... I'll stick to the configuration that resembles the current model for a while, and then upgrade when Gaikai is on stream.
