microsoft spends 400 million on the NFL deal, i wonder what better things they could have done with the money? hmmm cant think of anything

Well, I think we now know what MS main focus is.

tv?

It's definitely not games.  And yes, I believe they are gonna rely heavily on TV features on the new console.

you dont say can i ask you a question? since you live in the states (if i remember correctly) what does xbox one bring to tv that u dont already have? i mean, u can watch NFL on cable right? i mean its bringing tv and stuff like that to consoles for in a new way, but is it better than what you guys already have?

No it's not any different from DirecTV that we have at my house, even though that's satellite and not cable. The cable providers in my area offer NFL, MLB, etc. deals and stuff so people can watch games and recaps.  They are talking about this stuff like it revolutionary when it's not.  Sure the voice controls are cool, but not many people care about that stuff.  Plus, didn't they say that a person has to have a cable box to plug into the xbox? Also cable in the US is becoming obsolete with satellite being the top providers.  And I'm sure any TV stuff will be behind the Live pay wall of $60 or more.  In short, no it's not bringing anything I or a lot people already have.

so basically xbox is just a glorified remote?

What, remote! I can use various hand gestures to flip through channels! It is a very advanced device that controls the flipping of various channels. Or organize my fantasy football league(if I actually had one).

i honestly can not see why anyone would want to buy this after yesterdays presentation. they literally gave little no any reasons. i could wave my hand around to flip channels, or you know, i could just press a button?

Ya.. that presentation and news afterwards was not good. It made me lean more towards getting the ps4 over the xbox one.

If anyone is interested here is digital foundry xbox one spec analysis.

oh ya, I read another article in the morning similar to it. The conclusion seems to be that the ps4 is more powerful, but rather close to the xbox one.

i actually gave MS a chance. i was willing to look into the xbox if they made live worth the money, which i assumed they would, but havent. they failed to show anything remotely interesting for me atleast. i was so hyped during the event and was posting postive comments. but then when i actually took another look at the subject im surprised by how bad it was

Ya I really liked the xbox 360. They still have e3 to blow me away though, but so does sony. Sony has the advantage right now too. Sony really came out with stuff I liked, mainly all the games. The xbox confeerence concetrated way to much on the tv aspects. Like when bungie came out, I was think new halo teaser/ip? No it was a tv show which is still cool and all though. They showed one new ip and cod ghost.

I was reading on neogaf and a lot of them seem to think the ps4/xOne power gap is slightly larger than ps3/360.  Unless I'm reading into it wrong.

the thing that is bugging me is that this confrence was about their vision. so what we saw is what they want to do and focus on. tv, kinect as a remote, tv and a few games. i wasnt expecting much games really, but there was a clear difference between Sony's and MS's confrence. one decided to focus on UI, how to use the console and what to do, and how it can be a tv or media hub that also plays games. the other announced the console, explained the new things on the controller and how it will effect games. explained a few new things about the network, and again, how it will effect gaming. barely showed the UI, because frankly, it doesnt really matter much. and then proceeded to show game after game after game. its ovbious, one cares about media, the other cares about games.

and im sure you mean 343 industries, not bungie its kind of ironic, bungie came out on the ps4 reveal, announced exclusive content. and didnt even bother even coming up at the MS confrence
