^ That's pretty similar to what they did last year with Helldivers. They trademarked the game months before its reveal during the Summer conventions.

same with The Order 1886. infact, sony tradmarked the order in april too. i know im being greedy, but i hope they are both AAA new IP's i have a feeling one of them is Sony bends game. (i SO hope its not a syphon filter game and its a new ip).

^^ This is an example of why criticism of your favorite brand is important instead of just saying you like everything about it and complaining about nothing. Driveclub, which is going to be Grid's main competition for the kind of racing game it is, was originally going full cockpit view but then decided to allow both camera views. It was one of the things fans complained about with Grid. So they added a cockpit view. *clap*

I don't know. They might be indie titles. Here's why;

More specifically, the two trademarks pertain to “Computer game software; Downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices; Video game software”.

Typically if a game is going to have a physical copy released they put something about a disc-based game in the trademark. This completely omits any mention of that and only says it's downloadable from a network or wireless device. The "wireless device" part could be another clue. These could also be Vita titles and if that's the case I am almost certainly going to say these are Indie titles.

Ehh, PS4 could use RE7 in Japan, no matter how crappy it may be. Japanese would still buy consoles to play it. Hopefully we'll get release dates for MGSV and FF15 on E3/TGS with some quite early 2015 tags. PS4 really needs some heavy hitters there.

There was a rumour picture going around that MGSV would release "early 2015"—whatever that means. As for FFXV, that is anyone's guess. You can never really tell with Square.

Let's hope Japan gets indeed great games soon. I really want to see so much sales as possible for Sony. They have been in financial trouble for way to long. They deserve profits!

I don't know if PlayStation alone can turn around a whole corportation like Sony.

Luckily for them they don't need to rely just on the Playstation division.  Sony's most profitable division by far is their FInancial branch.  I haven't seen the 2013 breakdown yet, but in 2012 their Financial division accounted for 63% of their operating profit.

PAX East: Hunting the Goliath. Evolve Hands-on Impressions

My time with the game at PAX East proved to me that without teamwork, Evolve will be impossible for hunters to complete. Given our roles, I eagerly jumped into the game as the Medic.

The mission started with players dropping onto the planet, hunting for the creature. Players must track it down in the early stages of the game, using tracks left in the mud or even startled flocks of birds. The fun begins when hunters actually manage to sight the beast and begin their assault on it. During that tracking time though, the creature is moving about the map and is able to continue working on their evolution by devouring the other creatures present. While we did manage to take off the creature’s armor after a tense standoff, it escaped back into the jungle while we nursed our wounds.

We started hunting the creature back down, but our real trouble began when a teammate wandered off on his own. The world’s environment is no walk in the park, with giant man-eating crocodile creatures, huge flesh eating plants, and more stalking players in the alien jungles. My intrepid teammate fell into what can only be described as a pit of death, a water filled crevasse guarded by one of the giant crocodile creatures. We jumped down to help him, but in that time the player-controlled creature reached Tier 3 and followed us into the watery arena. It became a systematic slaughter that left the trapper alive while the rest of us waited for a respawn.

Unfortunately, before we could drop back down into the game, the creature managed to destroy a power generator on the planet, completing a secondary winning objective for himself.

While hard to stomach, the bitter defeat still tasted so sweet. Evolve is certainly set to be one of the best upcoming games this year. I certainly feel it deserves the game of PAX East 2014 and I do recommend diving into the game if you are a fan of Turtle Rock’s previous titles.

Evolve is currently slated to release to PC, PS4, and XB1 in Q3 of this year.

Also their movies division does very well. But PlayStation does make a lot of profits for them like the past quarter.

I bet Kill Strain is from Guerilla lol

I hope not.  The public may think that it's another Killzone game.  I hope it's a more unique and original title.

Yep. Sony's financial branch was keeping them alive even when pretty much everything else was costing them money. Now that their TV line is being spun off and their PC division is being sold I'd say they just stopped a fair amount of bleeding. If PlayStation 4 continues the pace it's on then there's no reason why Sony won't be making substantial profits from it in a couple years. Not to mention Sony is one of those companies that Japan can't afford to see fail.

Not a Killzone game, but it might be from Geurilla.  Doubt it very much though.

Geurilla is supposed to be making an RPG.

Yes, I know.  Most people here know that they're working on a RPG.  However, from a marketing perspective you have to assume that the public is ignorant.  The public right now only knows Geurilla for KZ.  If their next game also starts with "Kill", many people will just assume it's another KZ game.  They need to come up with a different enough title that makes it clear that it's a new and unique IP from Guerilla.

Just making sure you're most people.

I'm not sure how much we can assume about how much the public knows about Geurilla.

No, but as someone who's worked in marketing for 12 years now, the #1 rule I've learned in this industry is to always assume your consumers know nothing about your product and therefore it needs to have a clear selling point.  The name is extremely important because that's usually the first piece of information the consumers see.  Most people only know Guerilla as a FPS studio that makes Killzone.  For their next IP which is not a FPS, they need to make sure that they market this as a new original IP that has nothing to do with Killzone.  Calling this game Kill Strain does not help that cause at all.

Anyway, you're free to think whatever you want, but personally I would be shocked if their new open-world RPG is called Kill Strain.
