Joe question, is it easier to develop for console or pc?

I know everybody here hates GAF but this is BIG news for me if true...

Guys I don't know where to post that. I am still Junior Member because I don't have enough posts.

PlayStation Turkey's VP Sercan Sulun said that The Last of Us with enchanced graphics and Left Behind is coming to PS4 in this summer. He said that on a local TV program on CNN Turk.

In 36th minute, while talking about BAFTA awards hosts are asked him for, "Will we see the The Last of Us sequel soon?" and he replied, "No, sequel is not coming right now as far as I know but I can say that first game will be released this summer for PS4 as a physical and digital copy, with enchanced graphics."

Really sorry for this post on this topic but I think this needs a new thread.

I don't understand what they speak in Turkey so I will believe in the GAFers sumary.

If you use multiplataform tools then it is the same.

The only difference is that after finish the game you will enter the optimization phase that is easy on console than PC due the fixed hardware.

IF THIS IS LEGIT,  OH MY GAWD!!!  I know it's been hinted at by verendus I believe on gaf, but it's been quiet lately on this rumor.  I WILL KILL ANYONE IN MY WAY OF GETTING TO A PS4 VERSION OF TLOU.

Yeah so it definitely seems as if it's true, SO I AM EXCITE!!!  I can already see the glorious 1080p 60fps with cutscene graphics for gameplay!!!

Depends.

If you're not making a graphics intensive game, PC is easier to learn but once experienced with either system they both are comparable. You just write the code and the game works.

 

With graphics intensive games, it's tricky. Optimizing on console is much simpler than optimizing on PC, but on PC you can also just force players to need better equipment.

 

I wouldn't diffidently say one is better than the other for every project.

That'd be interesting, for sure.

I did that with the first F.E.A.R... it was like playing a super slowmotion game like 5fps... it was interesting for 10 minutes at least
