Do you know how stupid I feel right now?  That was one of the first things I tried because that is the one thing my professor says to do if they are falling through, so I moved it up, but it still didn't work.  I thought that that wasn't the problem so I didn't try it again.  I must not have moved it up enough.  Oh well, at least the solution is found.  Thanks. :-p

*edit* So I got it, but that's so weird how the particles were emitting into the fountain when it was already pretty high above the fountain to begin with.  I only had to move it up like another .04 and it would work.  So weird, but so easy. Well, now I know to always move the emitter a lot if something is going wrong. 


i have a very good understanding of how stupid you feel we all do stupid stuff when it comes to maya but the thing is you gotta learn how to troubleshoot. when you have a problem you have to understand how the program works so you can see step by step if things are going smoothly, also to figure things out. playblasts and checking stuff frame by frame help a lot, specially when doing any kind of simulation. also remember to organize your scene and name everything so you can know whats causing problems.

Edit : they dont emite exactly from the same spot, and you shouldnt just assume moving it would solve the problem, each scene and simulation have their own cases and their own problems. though its a lesson learned

Everybody probably has that one time when it is something so easy and they feel stupid for not realizing it.  And yeah, I'm learning more and more on what I should look at and do if something is going wrong.  Anyways,  thanks.

trust me, it happens more than one time. i can tell you that out of experience

Hey, so I was thinking when it gets close to E3 we need to have predictions if sony will anounce a release date(probably will, I think) for ps4 and have predictions on the release date.

These psychic feelings are brand spanking new.  The kinks are not worked out yet. :-p  Anyway I am seeing a date and it's not good if you are hyped for E3 and the TLOU.  June 11th is the date at around 1:38 p.m.    Also how will you be able to "take off your hat and call me sir" if you are dead.  HMMMM.

so i was messing around with after effects today and i did this thing where i took the destiny concept art and made it look like it was moving in 3d. nothing serious took about 10 minutes but thought i would share

here is the video

and here is the pic i used to create the illusion.

thought i would share this just for fun

That's some serious magic o.O

thanks! i did another one for a helghast soldier but this one was much better. that one was more of a test. its really pretty easy and quiet simple. just some tweeking on photoshop first then on after effects. ill be doing more stuff of after effects this week hopefully. maybe ill upload it. if you want i can send you the link of the tutorial on how to do this

for the people who are interested in knowing how i made the destiny 3d illusion this is a really great tutorial on how it is done. i basically learned the technique from it. its just 13 minutes long and you just need photoshop and after effects on your PC. if you want to know how to get those programs message me. 

if anyone tries to do this and needs any help also dont hesistate to ask me anything

Cerny should just replace Jack Tretton or something...

I'm assuming Jack Tretton's position is seen as a higher one than Cerny's. What is Cerny's position exactly?

Pretty cool!  After Effects is awesome.  I know of a site that has a lot of tutorials for after effects and this was one type they had.  I'll try and find it and post along with yours for other people who would like to learn it.
