FFXIII sold way less on 360 because it was still exclusive to PS3 in Japan, which is a huge territory for FF games. |

Well the taste difference between me and you is certainly big :P I just don't know but playing on Gears 2 Horde was just simply "simple!" and it was so straight forward and "old-stylish" - what I am trying to say is that you couldn't build stuff around your map to make your "hole" a better protected hole which simply made Gears 3 horde arcadish and too easy which kind of was the point if they wanted it to be more casual. Gears 2 had som excitement and it needed one hell of a teamwork to even have a succesful round(after some rounds of course) and the thing with Gears 2 horde was that you could DIE, I mean what tha hell after some rounds on Gears 3 you had a lot of money and if you were 5 persons you could just secure a position and sit there. As for Beast mode it was fun for 3-4 hours but then it became sooooo repetitive and boring |
I think the problem with Gears 2 Horde for me was if you failed a wave in the 7,8,9 or 10 range you were pretty screwed on higher difficulties. This wasn't a issue so much up to about level 30 but when you started getting to 37 onwards you would sometimes find yourself having wasted 1 hour getting there to have to start over again as it was impossible to beat a later wave without a good base to work from at times. If you lost your shields it was a pain getting them back and entrenching.
Gears 3 horde gives you a great chance to build a solid base then you have the boss rounds which can effectively walk through your base with impunity to keep you on your toes. You tend to find more people will work in the same area in Gears 3 too as you get the team spirit of investing in the base in public more rather than the idiots in Gears 2 who could wreck a well setup base by picking one shield up and running off on their own.
I went for the Beast mode ribbons which meant using all the characters and really spending some time getting to know the maps and gameplay. Initially it does seem quite a simple gamestyle until you start playing more and realising the maps change your play style and tactics dramatically if you want to be effective.
If I had more friends that had played Gears 2 seriously rather than playing a lot in public I think I might share your opinion as there are some things I loved about Gears 2 horde that you don't get in Gears 3. I fondly remember playing River with friends whereby we'd split into 2 teams and camp in the buildings so we could shoot down the road at the spawning enemies and always be able to fall back on one base should the worst happen. The mad cap dash round the map collecting ammo and weapons while avoiding the last bad guy was always fun. In that regard there was some lements that required more teamwork to be successful which is different about Gears 3 as you're not completely reliant on others all the time.
Not sure about your not being able to die on Gears 3 horde. I find even with Super Reload and Infinite Ammo enabled it is still very easy to die on a Insane horde game in later levels.
If it does il have no interest in the next xbox tbh.
thats cool aslong as we on the next xbox get to play as a guy named drake on xbox720

That will NEVER happen. Sony owns the Uncharted IP. MS does not own the Gears IP.
FUnny how some people can never grasp this concept

I love the part with River because that map must have been one of the best Horde Maps, this is where Gears 2 Horde excelled for me and this where having your own friends ready and not some Public horde party makes a big difference in the experience and gameplay. It's just as you say in your post there was always an exciting feeling towards the 10th round inch each "tier" where it was like "we have to win this guys" and then they made the waves even more powerful that is where Gears 2 excelled for me.
Maybe saying you can't die on Gears 3 was an exageration but the point still remains Insane on Gears 3 felt like the baby of Normal and hardcore in Gears 2 which kind of made things boring after some hours especially if you had 4 friends with you all the way instead of having a public horde match. With all this said I found one particular point in Gears 3 which really made Horde at least playable and that was the occasional Brumak or whatever that appeared on every 10th round, that was just epic to even pull off something like that was really impressive from a technical view and gameplay view.
Again I won't really say anything about Beast mode because I seriously didn't like it at all, I would have loved to have Horde reversed completeley instead of having beast mode which seriously was mediocre at best
Ha Drake on Xbox. We will see peace in the Middle East before that happens. Gears on PS4 is a possibility though (however slim).
Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS
