This response is a serious joke just like this thread, why would the die hard ms fan have doubts??
you know what I watched the Sony Presser and you tell me if Sony didn't spend like half of their presser on just social stuff!
I have never used a device as much as I have used my XBOX in 5.5 years it has been sitting right beside my TV playing games, making me party up with my friends, letting me watch endless of movies/shows, letting me watch live sports, had a good chunk of laughter with the kinect(for better or worse), the best youtube videos, listening to music and you know what's so good about that? Its one freaking device!!!
You could argue and say that PS does a lot of these things but it still doesn't justify your dumb comment above which is based on MS rumors

if your into entertainment, than you may like what you see but the xbox fans who are actual gamers? they may be disappointed. and these are no longer rumoured specs, they're mostly final but there may be a few little changes here and there. nobodys saying you cant carry on enjoying your 360. i did for the first 3-4 years until microsoft decided to completely change their focus. die hard xbox fans are real gamers and microsoft have said themselves, xbox is not primarily a games console anymore. they'll show you this next gen.

If I am into entertainemnt or not is not the issue here, why would a xbox gamer be dissapointed because of a 20min showing of some social and media type of things? And who the hell said that a rumor from last february is set in stone one year later and 20 months away from launch? Whether or not edge have had an awesome time guessing right doesn't mean that they are not off on their Xbox spec rumors. Nothing is set in stone until you see the Xbox with it's full specs, besides for all we know 720 may come out in 2014 that wouldn't be something new to this industry.
The Xbox 360 has always been marketed as a entertainement console ever since it came out, its just that they saw the opportunity to actual broaden their user base. Does it hurt you that the next Xbox will have features you don't need but others would like to have? I mean you can still play games so what's the problem with broadening their approach to more people???

no it hasnt. the first few years it was known as the most hardcore game system on the market and primarily a awesome games console, what are you talking about? since 2010 microsoft decided xbox was now an entertainment console first and gaming second. thats the problem. it HAS to be the other way round. entertainment isnt what will make xbox 720 successful, games is!

Okayy maybe not as early as 2005 but I sure as hell remember all things about CES 2007 where MS made a pretty big deal about IPTV coming to the Xbox soon, it took a little while longer than they thought but they still brought it in.

Not to mention MS had Windows Media Center support from the begginging in 2005 which basically rendered the 360 as a all "around device", they also put in Zune VIDEO/MUSIC marketplace into the Xbox in 2009, so the Xbox may have been more marketed as gamer device but it sure as hell always included entertainment in the marketing equation.
Everything I just listed is things that made the 360's lifecycle longer, it was just recently that it started to hurt MS core business which us the hardcore gamers.
