Forums - Sony - Really impressed with PS4 specs and open discussion on hardware by Sony.

Pleased all you guys pretty much thought the same thing, of course there was some spin and bull in there but there's nothing wrong with that provided there's underlying information and what event wouldn't have any, it's 2 hours so have to give everyone some of everything. Was just genuinely astounded by the straight talk regarding the specs, it was *almost* like a technical conference/seminar aimed at tech geeks from say Intel or something, if that makes sense. In terms of the buzz/spin stuff well I was expecting it to be 100% consisting of that, but we got shown some games that looked downright incredible. I'm a PC guy at heart and I think even some of them will be impressed by this the terms that were being used. We're surely in for a hell of a gaming treat when it's released and I think it will be able to keep up with the PC in terms of ports and graphics for a good few years, thanks to the massive amount of RAM.

It's going to be years before 8GB is even demanded in PC games let alone a restriction on consoles.

Mark Cerny made the show. Genuine, intelligent, switched-on man.

I was thinking the same thing.

I'm glad you're on board. Devs are pleased, gamers are pleased, the only people I see hating are pc fans. Every forum I go its the same: "my peesee is so much betterz"

Mostly it's people who pretend to be PC gamers

OT: Yup, I was very impressed with the hardware lead guy (Mark Cerny?). He was passionate about the project and talked about how they had worked with developers this time to make something that works well and is easy to work with.

I think it's because they don't like the fact it's got 8GB of GDDR5 when no PC compenent is available with RAM that fast on in that quantity. :)
