I kind of feel the same way.
In this past gen I've noticed that great graphics are nice, but what I ended up playing more were/are games that I have fun with or that have an interesting story, not the games that look better.
Precisely for that, I think that I'll be sticking to PC gaming for the next years with an upgrade on the GPU with one of the HD8xxx/GTX7xx cards or maybe the cards after those if possible, and get a WiiU when the price is right as Nintendo games are usually about being fun.
Buying or not a PS4/Nextbox will be something that I'll consider in a few years once the price is low enough, and the choice between them will be mostly about it's exclusives and other characteristics like allowing used games or not, among others.
