I'm just as excited as anyone about the announcement of the Playstation 4 today.  Cutting edge graphics, huge amazing games, and some big surprises are most likely coming in just a few hours.

That being said Sony fans are startin to come across as far too overconfident about something we know nothing about   I'm seeing predictions everywhere of Sony dominating this gen, that MS will provide nothing for core gamers, that Wii U is doomed, and endless Kaz avatars.   In fact I love hype but I think some Sony fans should controll their expectations. 

After all the PS3 had immense hype with saying like "The next gen doesn't start till Sony says so" and we all know how the first few years of the PS3 went.

Be hyped for the console and games but no reason to try and tear down or insult other consoles and fans.

Sony fans are excited for the PS4 announcement. I'm sure it'll be the same way when Microsoft unveils their new machine. It's been a really long gen and Sony has gone out of their way to hype this up and give people plenty of time to think about what they could possibly be showing off, this was bound to happen.

I think most fans just want their interests to be taken care of, I really don't think any Sony fan expects another PS2 domination. It's not like if Sony doesn't completely dominate the market, that Playstation fans won't be happy with what Sony offers them, same as this gen.

PS4 is set to dominate because they haven't ducked up yet. So far they have done this gen perfectly so as fans of course we project that forward to mean they will do everything perfectly. After today when we have some actual negatives or concerns about the system is when real predictions can start.

I agree 100% and most Sony fans are hyped while being reasonable

However Im seeing some of them openly attacking Nintendo and MS saying they have no chance against Sony/PS4.  Those are the ones Im talking about.  They are overconfident considering we know nothing about next gen yet

A lot of people are just playing around because it's fun. The Kaz thing is fun. Yes, a few people are going beyond that and declaring that Sony will rise from the ashes because that's what they want to believe, but then we'll see the same thing from some Microsoft fans when it's their turn.

I don't really see much to be concerned about.

That "The next gen doesn't start till Sony says so" is derived from Kutaragi's famous quote from 2006. It's really just harmles fun.

Im assuming sarcasm?  Sony was far from perfect this gen and made some huge errors.

That being said Sony did some things very right including some of the best exclusives this generation.  I just think some people need to be realistic and realize Sony is far from having this coming gen won yet.
