Forums - Gaming - The official turning over a new gaming leaf Thread

This is one of the best games I’ve played recently. It has everything that I look for in a FPS, smooth controls, and lots of weapon strategies (you can’t use just use one weapon for like half of the game, you’ll have to change them up a lot). Even though I never played the previous installments I almost instantly got into it. The storyline for half-life 2 is very well though out and well planed (I’m at the “follow Freeman” level but I’m liken what I see).

Maybe there’s a chance I can still make something special out of this post after all. Ok I’ll go ahead and Make this the “Official turning over a new gaming leaf Thread” and to expand on this thread you can talk about systems as well. If you ever had a similar experience share it here.

Overview of thread: This is the place where you can come and talk about the games and systems you once thought were bad until you tried them. Any game or system you had a negative view on until you tried it discuss it here.

Rules:

1.) It must be a game you’ve played before and not just one that you’ve read of looked up some info on.

2.) It’s ok to give out suggestions on trying a game, especially if someone might like a certain game if more info is given

3.) No trolling and or flaming is allowed.

That’s pretty much it have fun with this thread everyone

O.K. here's a serious answer for you.
Gears of War stopped me hating console shooters. The gameplay and controls felt cool and usable. Still can't get to loving console FPSs though, love my KB/M combo too much.

Edit: Gears even inspired me to crack open Rogue Trooper on my original Xbox. I'm quite enjoying it too.
