Forums - Gaming - To Clear up confusion on what makes a AAA game

Hello ?

There was a lot of discussion whether Alan Wake failed or not on the 360, based on investment in relation to sales.

So does anyone disagree that we are talking about a AAA game ?

Around the Network

This is wrong because definitions of words can change over time. The term AAA is in the process and you guys are keeping the word in the past.

You would be surprised what the word "fag" meant over the last few hundred years. Pile of sticks, to cigarette, to a homosexual slur, to most recently referring to "An extremely annoying, inconsiderate person most commonly associated with Harley riders"

AAA IMO has a dual meaning and means either budget or metacritic rating depending on the person. Because for me, to say a horrible game is AAA because it had a high budget is ridiculous.

A: 70-79
AA: 80-89
AAA: 90+

Example: AAA Beef. It refers to the meats QUALITY.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Question;

Is Alan Wake considered a AAA game ?

It was under production for 5 whole years, by a loaded developer (Max Payne 1&2 sold 7.5 mil, let alone the money they got for selling the IP) and it has a reasonable length and it's highly polished.

Yes it was a AAA game as far as I'm aware  Not sure on what the budget was but I'm pretty sure it was high.
