Iwata and Gates are the only ones that are positive. The rest are a disgrace

Kaz Hiria made the stocks go up, while Iwata made the stocks smash to the ground for the first time in Nintendo history!

Hirai didn't become CEO of Sony until 2012. Before then, his time at SCEA and SCEI was pivotal to the rise of Sony's consoles, and game consoles in general, outside Japan.

"Since heading up Sony Computer Entertainment America, Kazuo Hirai has been instrumental in Sony's success. He played a fundamental role in the rise of the PlayStation in the United States, and his methods of cross-promoting of the PlayStation brand took its advertising beyond merely "game" or computer oriented fields. PlayStation advertisements were placed in mainstream sports events such as the NBA, the NFL, the NHL and even NASCAR. This method of marketing has been credited with introducing large numbers of individuals to video games who would ordinarily have not considered purchasing a console.

With the release of the PlayStation 2 in 2000, Kazuo continued his success, utilizing second-party franchises such as Jak and Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs series of games. Under his leadership, SCEA continually managed to retain high profits throughout the sixth generation era."

The man deserves his dues. He made everyone rethink the potential of the game console as a home entertainment system.

looks right to me.

Yeah, but Iwata was also the one who made the stocks rise to the highest they've ever been.  You've got to give him credit for both, not just ignore all the good he's done for that company.

What is your point with this thread, though? I don't understand. You're just making a list of upper management, just because?

I doubt Iwata was in his position when the GameCube was launching...

Why didn't you do Steve Jobs? Or is this just for real console makers?

Iwata was responsible for development of the GameCube as a Senior Director or some such title, but Yamauchi didn't name him as CEO until summer 2002, I think.

So, do we blaim the sales bomb that is "GameCube" on Iwata?

Just information that is useful if anybody wants to know them.  Nothing other than that.
