Forums - Sony - Ni No Kuni: Best JRPG in about 2 decades

xenoblade got good reviews, but because it's a wii exclusive, I'll probably never play it.

why?   the system costs just a little bit more than buying a brand new game, and there are plenty of good games on the system.  Never understood why people limit themselves to one system...

As this thread has pointed out, there are exclusive games just in the JRPG category on each system that are worth playing, let alone other categories...

OP: nope, that's Xenoblade.

Still.

(NNK *is* good, but it isn't in the same universe as Xenoblade.)

I know im just pointing out how silly it is to go by reviews, professional or amature

Except that professional reviwers atleast tryto be objective and thorough,  user reviews... Not so much...

They do? Even with wads of cash in their face? Or bags of doritos and delicious Mountain Dew?

So, your disdain for professional reviews is based on baseless conspiracy theory... hmmm, yep, I guess I'm on the internet, sigh...

Well in anyones defense.  Xenoblade probably costs more to acquire than the Wii console does.

I suppose that is true... crazy.  I walked into my local gamestop and bought it for 50 bucks right before christmas... hopefully gamestop can get nintendo to ship them some more...

Final fantasy 9 and suikoden 2 are my all time favorite jrpgs, Ni no kuni looks good and im sure its alot better than most Jrpgs out there.

Common thing im seeing in this thread ( and others) is Nintendo fans harping on about Xenoblade being better but probably haven't even played Ni no kuni. But same can be said about Sony fans though I just seem to see alot more Nintendo fans doing it......

Not even close. Good to finally have a respectable JRPG on PS3 though.

Grandia II is my all time, and while I am loving Ni No Kuni I'd say it is one of the best this generation, but even putting it in top ten all time would be a challenge with the Suikodens, Breath of Fires, Dragon Quests, FInal Fantasies, Personas and all.

Side note: I do hope to play Xenoblade some day, so can not comment on it.

best in the last 20 years? no...Final Fantasy IX...and to whoever said 10-2 and 13, REALLY?!

They are really different though, so far I think Ni no Kuni is a cool game, but Xenoblade is a lot more epic. It's basically asking whether or not you prefer something like Disney's Snow White or Titan AE, I would lean more towards something like Titan AE just because I'm in a certain age group, but that doesn't mean I don't still watch Disney animations and enjoy them.
