Find a way to decrease the price of the games, people will pay a lot for hardware if they want it enough but a high asking price for hardware and software is ridiculous imo
Can Sony even afford cutting the price of the PS Vita?

They have to decrease the price, not increase the quality. That's one of the reasons 3DS wins. It's much inferior, which allows it to be cheaper. Plus 4 GB is nothing. Really, that's just a waste of resources for the redesign for something useless, moreover they pack a 4GB card with almost all Vitas anyway. I have a 32 GB card and I have 7 GB left, but I plan some big PS Store shoppings this month, so I will probably fill it all up. If anything, they could release a special business class Vita with 128 or 256 GB (preferably) on board, but not to make it a standard thing. I would get that one without hesitation. But alligning the price cut with the release of big games is a no-brainer. Soul Sacrifice will be the last big game with Vita at current price. I have said it a long time ago - Sony will try to milk what it can from the Japanese with this game and just cut the price after that some time before the release of KZ. |
its not about increasing quality its about getting rid of a barrier that is holding of some consumers. you beed a memory card to play games, so added to the price of the vita u need to add the price of the memory card. but putting in built in memory u eliminate the need to buy a memory card, so the price of actually jumping on the vita bandwagen becomes cheaper. also i agree 4 GB is nothing, it will fill up quite fast, that will urge users to buy a memory card down the line after the made the investment with the vita already, you dont have to buy it to play games, but u can if u want to. and its to soon for the 128GB vita. thats when the price of the vita itself costs low to manufacture and its already at a mass market price then they could add a more expensive model with alot more memory
@ bolded, i agree

The thing is, I think it'll be cheaper for Sony to just bundle each console with a 4 GB card than to redesign the console and include internal memory. They would have to include some software changes to support two different memory sources as well. Just a bunch of problems that can be solved by putting that one card in the box ;)
And I know it's too soon for Vitas with huge memory on-board, I'm just talking about it for the future, when they decide to do some kind of redesign. There's really no point for it at the moment.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/
My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

That's not for certain. They could be planning a price cut but don't expect it to work that well.

that doesnt really make any sense, the only reason to cut the price is to increase the sales. if they dont expect to increase sales then why cut the price and lose that revenue?

The target was 13... you really think a price drop would move that many?

Drop the price 50 dollars and people will buy it..
