I mean this is the guy who though Ridge Racer for the PSP was worth getting excited about. Do people just find it funny to superimpose such a lame guy over badasses as some kind of juxtaposition?

I'm not getting the joke or why it's so funny that this forum has recently been wallpapered with his face on animated gifs. Is it is goofy smile? What am I missing?

It's not this forum... it all the internet... this guy is a icon in the videogame industry.

The success of the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 just exists because this guy and now it is the Sony's CEO... wikipedia: he was noted by Entertainment Weekly as one of the most powerful executives in the entertainment industry.

Edit - The origin of this meme records to 1995... too much history to tell... any first PlayStation fan knows this man.
