We actually from these #'s can't say for sure the gaming diving is profitting since Zune and others items like keyboards etc. are all bunched into one group. But being in the black for the entertainment division is a rare thing of late so that is good news for MS.

I doubt MS sold $357m in keyboards.
It's also not a coincidence that this is the second profitable quarter in a row after the Halo 3 launch.

Now that is just getting rediculous I was just stating the fact you can't just assume it is all profit from the gaming division. Also I bet they did make a pretty penny off the Zune this christmas season since they were selling like hotcakes by me.

Kudos towards them, they got their foot in the door finally and are starting to make some dough.

Yes very good news for MS stockholders lets see what this next quarter has in store for them. It is good news to see another hardware maker doing well hopefully Sony will be next in line to start turning a profit.

good job MS, keep it up and you might just make your platform a profitable venture :)
Note: Some games in my collection are no longer owned, but have owned.
It's really puts the pressure on Sony. Shareholders won't sit still if MS and Nintendo are making good profits and Sony is losing big chunks.
Well done MS - not a bad result.

Revenue 2007 2006 2007 2006

Operating Income:

So even though their revenue barely budged from last year - they turned a 300m loss into a 350m gain. Nice work!
For reference:
Ninty's operating income (for the 9month period) was up to almost $4bn - whereas net income was only 2.5bn. (mainly taxes?)
EAD would still be in the red for the entire 9 month period.
