This is actually pretty cool!

Turns out that even more attention and detail went into crafting The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild than we had ever imagined. Speaking today in a interactive set at the Game Developers Conference, key Breath of the Wild developmental staff Hidemaro Fujibayashi, Takuhiro Dohta, and Satoru Takizawa discussed how the physics and chemistry in the world of Hyrule came together.

“In looking at the boundaries of the previous Zelda games, and designing around them, a new freedom of expression and gameplay was formed. By creating a game in which the player can interact with objects, and objects can react to the world, Zelda could become a more active game. The quickest way to bring these ideas to life, and present it to the team, a 2D prototype of Zelda was created.”

I find it incredibly cool that the world of Breath of the Wild was tested out in this retro looking Zelda sandbox, and as more than a few users commented, this looks suspiciously like a Legend of Zelda Maker. Hmmm. Nintendo also had this to say on the prototype:

“The 2D #Zelda prototype we discussed earlier? It was actually 3D, running BotW’s physics and “chemistry” engine in the background!”

What do you guys think of this method? Does it get your minds wandering with possibilities? Let us know in the comments below!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

98 on Metacritic!

Here are the poll results, lest Danne scold me again

YES!

I am walking home from the store with brand new Zelda in hand!

WiiU version, the last one they had. Switch version was sold out, as well aa the console itself it seems though obviously I don't know how many they had in the first place. All they had left was a bunch of 1,2 Switches and Just Dance. Anyway, can't wait to play, too bad I'll have to go to my grandmother's birthday first lol..

My special edition shipped today. I'm busy with stuff right now so I think I'll survive waiting a few more days to play it.

Got my Switch this morning after midnight!

Zelda arrives this afternoon!

Don't be offended if I disappear from the site for a month

Ha, I'm probably going to dissapear from this site until areound E3 time.

Well the game definitely has the ability to just invite the player to procrastinate, plays differently from other Zelda games so the first hour or so is just getting used to this then it becomes more fun by the second, the plateau in the beginning is surprisingly large. Tried out the screen shot and social media posting as well.

Third shrine now and getting used to the changes, the climbing mechanic is nicely done.

Anyone else notice how Rupees are extremely hard to come by now?
