5 dollars to watch a movie once... no thanks.

It's the same price as Blockbuster or an On-Demand service.

 I avoid those like the plague ._.;

And I'm sure other people do, too. But that's not the point. There are plenty of others that do use those services (occassionaly, me being one of those people).

 True, but the ammount of people who even have that service available is dwarfed by those who don't. Then take in consideration those with the ability who still don't makes the number even smaller :(

Sorry for the spam but i have one more point.

I can go to the movies for 1.50 at 3 movie theaters in my area. Ogden 6(15minute drive), Tivoli(15 minute drive), and Nova 8(15 minute drive). They show movies that all the other movie theaters dont show anymore. So the movies they show are about a month-2months old.

And the showplace 12(2minute drive) theater and Showplace 16(15minute drive) are only 5 dollars to get into.

Holy Crap...last time my wife and i went to the movies (I Am Legend , very good movie)....16 for the tickets...popcorn, two drinks and some m&m's.............32.50

Yeah, I'm using DSL and I can only download at around 200 kbps which is slower than a snail, how long would it take me to download a movie?

A looooong f***ing time. Let's just leave it at that. It takes me about 2.5 hours with a 5mbps connection.

Well then, looks like blu-ray will be the way to go for me, all the more reason to get a PS3, as I only pay ten bucks a month for internet, I'd never give that up.

been saying it for a while downloading is going to be the next big thing in movies

 The model that these downloadable movies are following has been tried once before and it failed pretty misreably. I highly doubt downloadable movies will take off until the move from rental to sales.

There is no reason downloaded movies have to look worse than a blu-ray movie. Or are you talking about having a case and disc? I can agree if you mean the latter.

A day or so I would guess.
