I see the 720 being 1st or 2nd, Nintendo will find a way to recover before launch and secure either 1st or 2nd. PS4 will come in 3rd, with a smaller market needing a combo system (like Wii owners owning a PS3)combined with a higher price tag as Sony is known for.

Oh look, another person who is opposed to facing the reality that is the low sales of Wii U. In a few years, I'll return to laugh at this post.

Please do. Recent history has proven a similar trend. The 3DS got off to a subpar start, and if I remember, even the DS took a while to ramp up. I don't recall the 3DS having a good first 6 months, and everyone said it was dead in the water too. History tends to repeat itself.

History is meaningless in the console industry. The Nintendo Wii proved that, the Xbox 360 proved that, the PS3 proved that. Your "history" is nothing but cherry picking and wishful thinking.

By the way, the DS/3DS never dropped to 50k per week in year 1.

History has relevance everywhere it is applied. To disregard it is to remain blind and ignorant.

Minecraft had been huge on PC for YEARS prior to releasing a version on the Xbox 360. Comparing it to Journey is completely inane. Then again, you aren't one to know what a rational argument looks like.

If anything, the fact that its been available elsewhere for a year would suggest lower sales on 360, as is true with all "sloppy second ports". Also Journey has had much critical acclaim and awards, so your counter is moot.

Swing and a miss, Sales. As per usual.

Case in point: Mass Effect 2 on PS3 years later - 1.22m

Not to mention PC Minecraft sales double X360 sales.

I cant miss because Im 2nd place. Your 3rd. So I win anyways.

ME 2 360 sales.......2.95 million.

In the end, doesnt change 360 gamers digital buying habits, and for all the awards and acclaim Journey gets, it can't even crack 1 million. If that cant break a milestone, then I dont know if any PSN game can ever do that. XBLA has had million sellers for over 5 years.

You're* as in "you are" a contraction. You're welcome.

Sales of video game consoles don't determine logic. Your logic is bunk. Thank you for replying by going off on a tangential post that did not address the fact that you comparison was completely ridiculous.

I never said anything about downloadable game sales for either system. You did. I never argued that. I merely said that Journey, a PS3 exclusive game, cannot be compared to Minecraft on XBL as it was already a success before being "ported" (Different team entirely - not Mojang).

Yes because history has been an accurate predictor of future generational success, right?

PS3 sold gangbusters (not Wii)

Xbox360 sold 1/8th PS3

Wii sold 1/8th PS3

Right? That's what happened right? What, you mean that last generation (PS2 155+m, Xbox - 24m, Gamecube - 20m) didn't repeat? Shocking.

Bunk logic is bunk.

Grammar Nazis on a forum......sigh.

Sales of video games determine the winner before any discussion even happens. Thats gamign fan logic, universal. Dont like it, your welcome to boss me around when PS3 takes 2nd :). By the way, the grammer nazi part was a tangent on its own.

And im telling you that Journeys critical acclaim and awards/nominees is more of a counter to allow it to be compared to Minecraft.

Logic has nothing to do with sales, it's axiomatic - opinions bear to relevance. Astonished you're still purporting the contrary.

Journey isn't a valid comparison. It's on PS3 only.

Minecraft has been on PC since 2011 or sooner. Only after it became a success was a port made for XBL.

To disregard history....in any context, is backwards thinking. Simple as that.

Schools and Universities teach history. To say a time tested fact that man must learn from histroy so we may learn from it, is wrong, well I say society spanning thousands of years > your opinion.

But in gaming, we can learn what happens when you launch first, have different price points, appeal to certain demographics over others, the impact of exclusives over 3rd party games, the rise of digital markets, how brand appeal affects market positions.......gaming history can tell us a lot about whats gonna happen next gen, after all 3 consoles release and we see patterns emerge.

Seriously, your stance that history isn't important......I dont know how you can defend that claim.

1. Never said history is unimporant. I said history means zilch when used to predict the future of console success.

2. You have failed to back up your claim that you can, in fact, use history to accurately predict future console sales.

I'll wait for you to address your fallacious claim.
