Its fan created logic. A PS fan can brag about PS3, but their rep will be tarnished so long as the Vita struggles.

If u don't own one, u don't deserve to comment, there are more games on the Vita that's worth playing than most handhelds...
How do u know that Sony is losing money from the Vita?? They said they would break even near day 1. I think they are actually earning money on each unit sold, I don't how much RD they spend on, but their hardware was probably profitable within the first few months

PSP never did well even when the real God of gaming (PS2) was the market leader. Home and portable are entirely different monsters. Look at Nintendo. They lost home console market with N64 and Gamecube but their handhelds remained dominant in those years.

Oh, lol. Does this mean that I shouldn't enjoy all the Ps3 exclusives this year and instead should worry about the Vita? Damn, I'm doing it wrong.

Yet here we are. PSP did great for a first timer. Totally different then the numbers Vita is pulling in.

Why would Sony not develop a handheld after selling 75 million PSP? Why would they leave Nintendo with 100% marketshare? Sony had to at least try it. Like KazHirai said, it's the long term that matters. PS Vita still has a lot of time to stabilish itself.
And despite not having sold a lot so far (4.1M), it has already been worth having. I love my PS Vita and the games released on it so far.
