I know it's early.  I know there are big games coming.  I know it's a solid piece of hardware.  But Vita will never be super successful and we need to accept that.  I never had much of an interest in handheld gaming so I'm probably a little biased here, but Nintendo will always own that market unless they lose exclusivity to Pokemon somehow and while I feel like Sony should continue to support it through 2015 at least to not lose consumer interest in their platform, they need to be focusing on PS4.  They can't afford to split their first party development between PS4 and Vita with Microsoft being able to focus on home consoles.  I want them to drop this thing immediately but I realize the bad image and stain on the company that would produce so I guess they can go ahead and do 5 years of support, followed by 5 years of letting it ride (like with PSP).  I just want as many devs as possible working on awesome PS4 games.  What do you guys think of Vita?

Totally agree. The Vita is a money wasting machine and Sony needs that money.

I thought some of Microsoft's studios were working on tablet & Windows 8 games?

Regardless, Sony shouldn't have made the PSP in my opinion, let alone the Vita.  But while it's here, I plan on enjoying it.  I've already played 4 games I've loved which I feel is enough to justify my purchase, so anything after that is just great.

I've already got more than enough great games on it to make me satisified with my purchase, I'm totes happy they made it even if it is a bit sad to see one of their products selling so poorly.

Nope. I'm glad they made it - they just need to support it more like they did with the PS3 in its early years before it can start doing well.

The games (some of them) are there but what is getting me away is the prices (memory cards) and the bundle options.

P.S. Loved the PSP , one of my most favorite game systems and I have enjoyed ALOT of great games on it, mostly RPGs which is a plus ;p

but don't you feel that splitting studios to work on Vita and PS4 games is going to stretch them thin?  What if Microsoft gets ahead on exclusives because of Vita support weighing down the first party studios?

Part of me thinks that since the PS3 is picking up in sales the past few years, the PS fans got some of their confidence back from the glory PS2 days.

But then here's the Vita, the one piece of hardware that's holding back the PS fans from true greatness. This isn't about games, this is about bragging rights. As long as Vita struggles, they can't say with 100% confidence that Sony is a God again.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

The Vita is the best portable I have in my home, what u talkin bout.

Why would I wish they'd never made the Vita? I don't understand that at all.

uhm.. I bought one last december (mostly because I got games for it through PS+ and there was a good deal available) and I'm glad they made the vita as it's a great gaming device and Little Big Planet Vita + Gravity Rush alone would be enough to justify it's existance, but there is even more excellent content

It was good that Sony built a handheld system, it is unfortunate that they produced the PS-Vita ...

Had Sony gone for a more affordable/stripped down pure handheld system, or created a multi-device platform (handheld, phone, tablet) that produced versions of devices that were gaming focused, I think they would be doing far better than they are.
