There will be NO XBox 720 releases this year, or within the next 5 years.  Microsoft isn't doing it.  As for the PS4, looking at Sony's recent track record, and the buzz, it is suspect there will even be a Playstation 4.

And, ok, this is a discussion of the name.  I want to know how many people starting threads like these actually believe the next Microsoft console will have the name 720.  If not, why do you keep referring to it as that?  Most people don't believe it is going to get called that.  If you do believe it, is it because you saw the movie Real Steel and think that movie accurately predicts the future?

It amazes me Team Ico managed to stay 6/7 years without releasing a single game.

I wouldn't doubt if they got cut loose soon.  Sad but I think it will happen.  

I know Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were both critical successes, but were they commercial successes too?

No they weren't.  The only reason they have survived is because of the remakes probably.  And those make great profits

So, you see, it is weird how Fumito Ueda and Team Ico were apparently given so much freedom and time to work on TLG, so much it backfired...I think Team Ico is what you could call 'vanity studio'.

Il be buying a PS4 at launch as I Know and love Sonys developers and exclusive games.
Il wait for Xbox3 to see what new IP's Ms show off and if they show there going back to how they developed the XBOX1 then il but that at launch too.

October would be the sweet spot. Get the pre-order and fanboy sales out of the way before mom and pop go out to get it for BF and Christmas. This would help with holiday shortages and catch the sales right as the hype ones die out. September would also be good but maybe too early.

I hope they both launch at the same price at the same time. Then we shall see who truly won consumers hearts over the last 2 gens.
