Nice numbers.

So... Where is it undertracked?

We need a place and a time. When do we get Ninty charts? How do our 2012 numbers look compared to NPD?

I'm getting a bit tired of this slavish reliance on Nintendo excel graphs.  It's ridiculous.  Im pretty sure they do not show all markets. 360 is clearly underestimated in emerging markets, Brazil for example.

i have a feeling the under tracking is historical and a combination if 2011 and 2012 numbers. If you look at the ship v sold numbers then its pretty obvious.

They said they sold the most consoles world wide in 2011, perhaps that really was true?  I wonder how they will do relatively this year as they made some good progress in emerging markets. I'm really not trusting the tracking here at the moment for world wide numbers. I would also say that their Windows 8 launch is pretty good, I picked up a cheap as Windows 8 laptop with a touch screen and doing things like browsing forums etc being able to scroll and pinch on the screen is an awesome interface.

Tease.

Thanks guys, you didn't disappoint while I slept. Cooking turned up for this quarterly posting session I see.

It is so clear that it is undertracked. Deal with it.

Awww look you mentioned my name. And the usual suspects that try to post their agenda otherwise didn't disappoint either. Can't wait for Nintendo's and Sony's fiscal reports to come out which will shed a little more light on what's really going on.

This thread went downhill fast.

My hope for this year is for the 360 to be ahead of the PS3 until the nextbox is released and better yet both of the next generation consoles. Then I can comfortably give 2nd place to them officially.

Not sure how sony will help.  They dont even tell us their own numbers.  Nintendo doesnt help either, they only tel us ewhat we already know... i.e. the main markets.

Instead of being aggressive and smart, why not come up ith your explanation as to why the channel is awash with 360's?

We have enough out there until June apparently.  Sales are below 100k and given the current climate of falling sales for the current gen this will get worse.

Well if Sony have truely stopped production of PS2's then there's a chance that they'll have also stopped shipping them by now so the number they give could just be PS3's shipment. As for Nintendo they'll show if any over or under tracking has taken place in Europe which will help.

Beyond that for all you, or anybody knows, who's to say that with the impending release of Microsoft's next console they didn't decide to push out a big shipment of 360's so they could concentrate on producing the new next gen Xbox this year.

Who's to say Microsoft aren't about to drop the 360's price and are making sure the market has enough supply.

But even if you want to assume everything is just undertracked then you've failed to take in to account that if previous months numbers are wrong then the current weekly numbers are also wrong, meaning the 360 is selling more than 100,000 a week completely changing the amount of days worth of supply in the channel.

Whilst in the real world whatever console actually ends up selling the most overall is officially above the one that sells less. #MindBlown

I highly disagree with that and I always have.
In the real world, it comes down to profits. No hardware manufacturer will support a market that keeps on losing money, no matter how high the market share is.

A console that lost 5 billion USD outsells a console that made 2 billion USD by 5 million units is not winning.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

You cant push supply.... they are ordered.

And yes your final paragraph is true, almost certsainly.  The real figure is approximately 500k more and it is selling at probably 10k to 15k more per week.  Glad we agree.

Haha if only that was true. Do you forget the fiasco that was the PR stunt of Microsoft saying first to 10 million "wins" and then they stuffed the retail channel that Christmas so they'd be over 10 million "sold" when in reality millions were just sat on shelves/in warehouses.

As for the numbers i'd go with 400k undershipped and 15-20k more per current week.

Ms is in a bad position at the moment and they may provide good numbers for there console market but they are questionable at best.

MS wants to sell its entertainment decision for over a year now because it is not making any profit at all, the problem is revenue is not profit.
But no company wants to buy it, especially because of a lot of uninteresting products in this field like the MS Phones or the Console Market.

If you have some time read this article does cover not one the entertainment division put also other MS fields very enlightening.I'd tell you more about MS planes for the new console cycle but I can't legal reasons)

- I removed the link to a known flawed article that was released in Forbes that was only going to start an argument.  I also am going to find out if this is an alt...

Surely that's "undertracked here" or "overshipped"
