Far Cry 3 DLC Coming Out Of Jungle On PS3

 

Back in December, Ubisoft announced that the PS3 version of Far Cry 3 would be getting exclusive DLC called High Tides, and now an exact date has been assigned to the content's released.

According to the PlayStation Blogcast, High Tides will come out on January 15 on the console, and it contains two chapters (Jailbreak and Redemption) that serve as an epilogue for the game's co-op story content.

The chapters will feature new missions that multiplayer developer Massive says will contain tougher fights and more explosive moments.

Europe's LittleBigPlanet 2: Extras Edition Bursting At The Seams

 

Media Molecule and Sony are putting together a version of LittleBigPlanet 2 that's filled with additional content called LittleBigPlanet 2: Extras Edition. Currently, the release is only slated for release in Europe and other territories worldwide – just not here in North America.

The Extras Edition Includes:

  • The original LittleBigPlanet 2 game
  • The Cross-Controller Pack. Features new stages, tools, the ability to use your Vita as a controller, and more
  • Rise of the Cakeling Move Pack. Like the Cross-Controller, it has new story levels, etc. Also adds Move functionality
  • The Muppets Premium Level Kit. Includes five Muppet-themed levels, 200+ stickers, and more
  • Six costume packs: The Muppets, Weekend Pursuits, Sports, Deep Sea Adventures, Dogs, and Cats

Alien Breed Coming To PS3, Vita

 


Team 17 has announced it's bringing a new-and-improved version of its classic top-down shooter, Alien Breed, to PS3 and Vita.

The British developer broke the news on the official Alien Breed Facebook page, stating that the game will be available on PSN in early February. The new version of the game contains 30 levels and allows gamers to play with updated visuals or the original 16-bit Amiga graphics. Cross-platform play between PS3 and Vita is also offered, along with local and online co-op multiplayer, leaderboards, and trophies.

Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories Headed To PS2 Classics

 

On January 22, Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories is heading to PlayStation 2 Classics on the PlayStation Network,

which means you will be able to download and play the game on your PlayStation 3.

The game will be $9.99 and will unfortunately not included the additional features added the PSP port of the game.

Browser-Based Sony Store In The Works

 

Sony's online program has grown in fits and starts, and the news is that the company is planning a browser-based store that wil eventually

let you purchase content and download it to your PS3 and Vita.

In a CNET interview, Shawn Layden, COO of Sony Network Entertainment, says that a U.S. SNE browser-based store is in the works and

should come out this month. CNET reports that the online store front will let you purchase and download content from this browser, and

"eventually" have it automatically download to your PS3. Why this key feature isn't available from the start isn't clear.  Currently, Sony

Network Entertainment has a European store browser with this feature up and running

 

 

 

PlayStation 3 Worldwide Sales Eclipse Xbox 360's

 

While the general perception is that this generation has been "won" by Microsoft -- largely due to the Xbox 360's dominance in North America --

analyst firm IDC's data now shows a slight advantage for Sony's PlayStation 3.  In a new report entitled "Worldwide Video Game and

Entertainment Console Hardware and Packaged Software 2012-2016," IDC says that Sony passed Microsoft's worldwide numbers in

the recent holiday season. PlayStation 3's worldwide sales numbers now stand at 77 million, compared to Xbox 360's 76 million.

This near dead heat is surprisingly, considering that Sony got a late start in this generation, and has struggled to catch Microsoft

in the U.S. and Canada. It's also worth noting that --despite the previous conventional wisdom -- the video game market in this

generation was robust enough to support not one, but three, successful home game consoles (including Nintendo's Wii).

I'm looking forward to sly. But a ratchet and co. movie? Well maby if they do it right they could turn it into a succesful animated movie... but i dont know... i just can't see it

I've never played SIREN, is it worthwhile to play now?

Playstation store being online is awesome but it also scares me a bit. I'll probably buy more stuff because of it.

I want the PS4 to cost $700+

 

Now I can tell this is going to get my a LOT of hate from people, but seriously, I want the PS4 to cost that much. Think I’m crazy? Well read on before you come to a decision.

First things first, as you probably expected, I’m going to compare the PS4 to the iPad. An iPad costs $499.00 for the base model, for slightly more space it will cost you $699.00. The price I want to pay for the PS4.

If Sony went with the same strategy Apple does with most of their products, they would be in the money. There is NO way on earth that 16GB to 64GB memory costs Apple $200. Probably wouldn’t cost them $20 extra. Having multiple hard drive sizes would be the perfect way to sell a console to people. Maybe Sony could have three options, 250GB, 500GB and 1TB.

Possibly like this:
£399.00 / $649.00 – 250GB
£429.99 / $699.00 – 500GB
£449.00 / $749.00 – 1TB

Seriously, I would be willing to pay that. It may seem like a lot of money, but if people are willing to spend around about the same price on iPads….

I said no because there was a backlash with the ps3 price so launching it at $700+ will be even worse.  It will definitely will dig the grave for sony. I know it was said for ps3 but i never believed that because they had plenty of money to fall back on but now they are getting worse and they have less money to fall back on.  i say $399.99-$499.99 is a good price range

It could go like this:

250GB- $399.99

500GB- $449.99

1TB- $499.99
