Now I can tell this is going to get my a LOT of hate from people, but seriously, I want the PS4 to cost that much. Think I’m crazy? Well read on before you come to a decision.

First things first, as you probably expected, I’m going to compare the PS4 to the iPad. An iPad costs $499.00 for the base model, for slightly more space it will cost you $699.00. The price I want to pay for the PS4.

If Sony went with the same strategy Apple does with most of their products, they would be in the money. There is NO way on earth that 16GB to 64GB memory costs Apple $200. Probably wouldn’t cost them $20 extra. Having multiple hard drive sizes would be the perfect way to sell a console to people. Maybe Sony could have three options, 250GB, 500GB and 1TB.

Possibly like this:
£399.00 / $649.00 – 250GB
£429.99 / $699.00 – 500GB
£449.00 / $749.00 – 1TB

Seriously, I would be willing to pay that. It may seem like a lot of money, but if people are willing to spend around about the same price on iPads….

As much As I want the PS4 to have the next cutting edge technology thats way to much. Do you know how many banks I robbed just to get a PS3.

I said no because there was a backlash with the ps3 price so launching it at $700+ will be even worse.  It will definitely will dig the grave for sony. I know it was said for ps3 but i never believed that because they had plenty of money to fall back on but now they are getting worse and they have less money to fall back on.  i say $399.99-$499.99 is a good price range

It could go like this:

250GB- $399.99

500GB- $449.99

1TB- $499.99

6 and a candy store

I have a feeling it will be around 250-350 though it could just be me.


It could be that to but the highest i will pay is $499.99 and anything below would be great.

It will be cheaper than the PS3, as the PS3 had various factors that pumped up the price tag. Developing the CELL-Chip, building a new fab to produce it, new disc format... And they still sold it at a loss.

Anything beyond $350 means they packed some serious hardware in it, maybe going for 4k, but that's more than unlikely.

Personally I agree that consoles should cost more to get higher specs out of them.

I have been chanting the whole people buy mobiles and tablets every year for stupid amounts of cash but sadly regular users do not see the same value in gaming as they do in portable devices they use for daily activity.

Therefore as much as I would love to get a really high end system for that price I don't think it will happen. Unless they have no problems with have very slow sales and actually having a 10 year life cycle. But to do that Sony will also need to make a profit form the start to get their financial shit in order.

Journey Is All Over The 16th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards

 

Journey has been raking in the year-end awards in recent weeks, but it seems like the shower of praise is set to continue into February. That's when the 16th annual D.I.C.E. Awards will be held, and thatgamecompany's gem leads the pack with 16 nominations.

It's up for Game of the Year, sharing the category with Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, The Walking Dead, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Nerdist (and Singled Out) host Chris Hardwick has been revealed as host of the event, which will be held February 7th at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas

Gran Turismo 5 New Corvette DLC Coming

 

Fresh off the Chevy 2014 Corvette Stingray's showing at the North American International Auto Show, the car will be available to Gran Turismo 5 players as free DLC.

The car has a seven-speed manual transmission, 450 hp, 450 ft. lbs. of torque, and will go 0-60 in less than four seconds.

The DLC will be available through the PlayStation store starting tomorrow.

Dust 514 open beta launches next week

Now that Dust 514 is all snuggled up alongside EVE Online on one single server, the PlayStation 3-exclusive MMOFPS is almost ready to let everyone in. After six months of a closed beta which players could pay their way into, it'll enter open beta on January 22, so all and sundry can became pawns in someone else's cross-game scheming.

 

Developer CCP plans no more data wipes, so existing beta characters will keep all their stuff and new players can start building corporations and making names for themselves. Dust players are able to accept mercenary contracts from EVE players, helping the chaps up in space secure control of areas by running, driving, flying and shooting men down on planets.

If you can't wait that long, you may have a problem but can still hit up the PlayStation Store to buy the $20 Mercenary Pack, which offers instant beta access and $50 of in-game doodads.

Well I've been wanting SIREN: Blood Curse for some time now, but $39.99 for a digital download game from 4-5 years ago is just too much, so I'm glad to see Siren is being released as a PS2 Classic today. I'm definitely downloading it. Though, I still want Blood Curse, so I hope the price drops soon.
