Forums - Gaming - Video Game releases in 2013 compared to 2008.

The only reason I want to compare these years, because at that time most developers got adjusted to working on both the 360 and PS3 for the most part and we started to see a lot more games from third party developers releasing on both consoles. In 2008, we got Devil May Cry 4 and in 2013, we are getting a new Devil may Cry(DMC). We also got GTA IV and Metal Gear Solid 4, in 2008 and now 5 years later we are getting GTA V and Metal Gear Solid Rising and Ground Zeroes.

Do you think (for the most part I know the answer already) 2013, will be just as good as 2008 was for gamers. I know when you mention years, some of them are better than 2008. But just look at the releases, do you see a pattern? It's like Deja Vu, except the graphics are better and there is a chance we might be playing those games on different consoles.

Just for comparison sake, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_in_video_gaming and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_in_video_gaming

Army of Two - Army of Two: The Cartel

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Metal Gear Solid Rising & Ground Zeroes

Grand Theft Auto IV - Grand Theft Auto V

Crysis Warhead - Crysis 3

Bioshock - Bioshock Infinite

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm - Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3

Gears of War 2 - Gears of War Judgement

Dead Space - Dead Space 3

From that point and to this point, gaming has come a long way and it could only get better. We already have some great systems out in the handheld space, the Wii U and who knows what Sony and Microsoft have up their Sleeve. My point is, that either this consoles generation has lasted way to long or some developers have lost sight in new ideas and innovations. What do you think?
