i'm asking him a serious question and i'm waiting for his reply

i think you are confusing two words here : serious and weird

but then again, you seem to make many confusions

what was weird about it? ;)

inept - irrelevant - dumb

weird was a polite description - the above is more accurate

By "everything" I am talking about all the third party devs that made the Genesis popular. Sony's Playstation became THE 3rd party platform. Publishers could make all their money on Playstation without having to port to anything. If the Playstation never existed the 32bit gen would have looked a lot like the 50/50 split of the 16bit gen.

but weren't most of those 3rd party games also available on Nintendo aswell though?

I always thought that Saturn failed because of the hardware compared to the PlayStation.

Most of the 3rd party games available during the 32bit era needed the space available on a CD. N64 ports either cut out a lot of content or highly compressed it. One of the largest N64 carts was for Resident Evil 2.

Games like MGS, Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 as well as countless others were never available on the N64 or the Saturn. If the Playstatin never existed those games would have been Sega exclusives.

The truth about the hardware of the Saturn is very missunderstood by most people. It was actualy the more powerfull console of all three. But, much like the PS3 it was very difficult to program for. As a result publishers found it cheaper to make games on the Playstation and it's library grew to be huge. If devs didn't have the Playstation they would have had to choose between the small and constly format of the N64 and the large and cheaper format of the Saturn.

I think that if the Playstation had never existed that the Saturn would have been the exclusive home of games like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, and countless others.

yea the ps3 fell right into that Saturn Hardware hole

Now that i think about it, why the fuck did Nintendo go with cartridges anyways? I don't get that

and yea, They probably would have been on Saturn if PS wasn't around..

Edit: oh, when i said hardware, i ment Saturn being the harder 1 to develop for

I'm sorry, everbody is mad today.

Haha humorous thread is humorous.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

I'm probably going to start a war with this, but from my observations:

Sony fans are the least willing to give other platforms a try.
Nintendo fans are the least willing to support 3rd parties.
Microsoft fans are the least likely to play non-Western made games or a variety of genres.

I don't fall into any of these, so therefore I am perfect in every way.

I would say yes, I'm primarily a microsoft fan but I also like and respect nintendo and it's fans, I HATE sony and it's fans. I know a lot of people who feel the same.
