Forums - Gaming - When should the PS4/Xbox720 release?

When should they release?

720 Q4, PS4 Q4 33 50.00%

720 Q4, PS4 Q1 2014 25 37.88%

720 Q3, PS4 Q4 8 12.12%

Total:66

Why have votes that only favor MS? Are you a fanboy or something? If it's an opinion base vote, might wanna add one that people might wanna see the 720 launch after the PS4. Just saying, seems like you're biased. And that isn't cool at all.

As for my vote, I vote for both at the same time next year in Q4. If it's equal, people will than buy mostly not from brand loyalty, but because that one console has a overall better service. Better features, and better exclusive 1st party titles.

Right now though, I am already decided to buy the PS4, and not MS console. MS has lost focus on producing great 1st party games. It's a gaming console, and that is what I feel is most important. Sure they can change that, but I don't see it. They want to do it all, I don't see them satisfying my needs in exclusive titles. Lets face it, exclusives will be one of the few reasons to buy a system over the next. 3rd party exclusives are almost non-existent and this becomes fewer and fewer every day. And then the last is features like Cross-game chat, and all which will be a equal playing field. Why? Because none of them (MS or Sony) will be hindered by hardware limitations preventing some type of addition.

I'm going with the obvious Q4 2013 release. It just makes the most sense.

Sorry I messed up the poll, for some reason I cannot figure out how to fix it.

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

3rd week of November 2013... right before black Friday. It'll make my comparison thread easier to manage.

2014

to many potential good games for next year tlou, gta, gow, beyond ect if they do release next year i wont be buying, ill probably be stuck on gta5 for at least a good 6-8 months

and besides i want powerful consoles that can run high resolutions (including shadows and textures in the distance unlike this gen) and fps, we were promised that this gen with 1080p and 60fps but i havent seen it most are sub hd or 720p with alot of short cuts to shadows and poor draw distance

                                                                      Play Me

i'd say 2014 as well if it were up to me

how exactly does pushing them back further harm the industry again?

Have you not been paying attention?

Hardware sales YOY are massively down across the board

Software sales YOY are waaaay down across the board

More developers are out of work than ever

New IPs are pretty much at a standstill

Tablets and mobile devices continue their rise.

The industry is hurting bad and needs new consoles to revitalize it ASAP, this gen has already gone on too long

Q4 2013 for both consoles

Honestly the further off they push the consoles back the worse it will be for the entire industry

hey dude.

pretty much wht ben said. it all depends on how threatened Sony and MS are by WiiU, but ithink they see a need for new consoles. i just hope the consoles are launch ready.
