I wasn't going to add portables. There are one or two other threads with that already.
Its not as interesting to me as its just Nintendo dominated by a lot.
Here we have more consoles to follow and a lot more competition.

Updated data with June 1st (final week of May data) and replaced poll now that the question on previous one is answered.
Looks like the various 3rd party titles that launched did do anything short-term for WiiU.
Hopefully tomorrow's E3 will do something.
Now that we know full details on Xbox one... my poll for this month should really be chosen carefully.
Wii U had a damn good launch all things considered, gonna say no. It might get closer than we'd all expect from all the negativity, but PS4 launch coinciding around the exact same time is sure to put a damper on things.
What'll be really interesting imo is how it compares to the 360 launch. Coming off MUCH larger market share than last time around, but also more general negativity when the PS4 will be right there $100 less.

While I think Xbone will definitely not get anywhere near X360 in sales at this point, I think there are enough people who don't care that much to allow it to match its launch.
Updated with June 8th data.
In a couple weeks I'll be updating this thread with the final 6mos I'll be evaluating as I only planned on going through the first year.
Of course I will continue to update XB1 and PS4 data is it becomes available.
Updated Jun 15th data.
No post-E3 effect yet. Guess it'll be low 20k until August at the earliest. Nintendo is going to need a massive holiday.
It's amazing to think that a) PS360 was also almost this bad, and b) that Wii had almost sold 10 million at this stage. What a beast.
^ The PS360 were nowhere near this bad, the Wii U just had a nice launch in comparison. The holidays are going to be unbelievable, though.
And yeah, the charts haven't been showing up for me the last few times I've visited even after refreshing.
Major update to OP.
Added last two weeks of VGC data for Wii U. Closing off June.
Added charts for remainder of year with Wii/PS3/X360 data accordingly.
Also added a new poll for the month. Most tended to think XB1 will NOT beat Wii's Nov/Dec launch numbers. I tend to agree here, but let's see what the community thinks about PS4's chances.
